Mo Sanu - Backup QB

I wonder what might have happened if we had Sanu w/this new RU 2016 offense. He can actually throw the ball.

Who knows how accurate, but he has very good arm strength, has thrown more than one touchdown option pass in the NFL.

Yep. I think that, if he were to focus on the position, Sanu could be a pretty good college QB in a running-QB offense. Sanu is a world class athlete and throwing accuracy would come with coaching and practice.

Where would he have gotten coaching?

Biggest mistake with the wild knight is almost never throwing.

As I used to say back then, I wish Greg had had the balls to go with Sanu as QB in a spread back when he was here, especially in 2010 when we had poor QB-ing (the 4-8 year) and 2011, Nova's freshman year (so maybe he could've redshirted and he would've been here this past year and Flood wouldn't have been fired, lol).

He was a great QB in HS and we've seen what he can do when given a chance to throw (he's had 12 completions in college and the pros with 6 of them going for TDs, often on long, accurate passes). We had fair amount of skill position talent and with him running and throwing, we could've been a far more dynamic offense with him as a dual threat QB. He also could've pooch-punted, when needed.

GS always said Sanu's best position was still safety. Would have liked to have seen that.

Sanu is my second favorite Rutgers player all time. Marvelous talent. What he did against Ohio will never be bested here at RU

Sanu would have had to run really, really fast to catch his throws if he threw out of the wildcat, because nobody else would be able to.
