One of the most underrated wrestling rankings is Gregg Henry's on wrestlingreport.com (LINK)

Henry ranks all the way out to the top 33, which is nice as thats the number of qualifiers per weight at the national tournament. the latest rankings have 9 Rutgers wrestlers in the top 33. it would be phenomenal to get 9 guys in the NCAA tournament, which is certainly possible, tho still not likely imo.

but with that in mind, I thought I'd give some super early way too soon but still pretty conservative predictions for the NCAA tournament:

125: McCabe 0-2
133: Girlado
141: Ashnault 5th
149: Dippery
157: Lewis 2-2
165: Perrotti R12
174: Backukas 1-2
184: Gravina
197: Hrymack
285: Smith R12

6 NQs, 1 AA. more on both counts very possible. something like 20 points and #25-20 team finish. I think anywhere from 30-15 for the team is reasonable assumption.

anyway, Oregon State will be a good test. cutting weight and traveling is not easy. Then Cornell, Iowa and Nebraska all leading up to Midlands will make for a very challenging month. Utah Valley and George Mason should be easy wins at least. definitely feeling like wrestling season now.

Any recent team rankings? After this weekend's success, RU should definitely be a consensus Top 25 team, if not Top 20.

Thanks.

Good link. A healthy AA is winning it all this year. I can c it in his confidence and the way he wrestles. He's improved and possessed. Praying AP and Big Billy can make podium. They need to dig deep. Giraldo won't surprise me if he AA although Id probably run around the house like a joyful little girl if he did. He has the talent. Richie Lewis has been a very pleasant surprise.

This is a pretty conservative and fair predictions. Honestly, If we finish with 1 5th place AA I'd be pretty disappointed. We need this program to progress. We need our wrestlers and recruits to believe they can get it done here at RU. I'd Like to see multiple AA this season or at the very least a national finalist. I believe it can be done.

Didn't know where to ask this, so I out it here. Is RU looking at a junior college or grad student for heavy weight next year?
