My hatred runneth over

Cant be, Don't you know that State Penn is the most ethical organisation ever created. The grand experiment by a saint no less. The minions job is to fight and expose evil in all the other colleges. Sandusky? Please that was nothing but a smear campaign designed by evil forces.

Your thread title should read: My jealousy runneth over. Must be sad to be you! [roll]

Why would he be jealous of Penn State? Jealous of Alabama? Sure. Jealous of Ohio State? No doubt. Jealous of Florida State or Auburn or even Clemson who just played in the national championship game? I can see that. Jealous of a school that hasn't won a major bowl game in 11 years and since then has had some really disgusting dirty laundry aired about it's institution? Why would he be? I get it...what major bowl game has Rutgers EVER won? None. But you are accusing the OP of being jealous. I'm sure there are a lot of programs he'd be jealous of ahead of PSU even if you overlooked the Sandusky scandal. Another 5 years or so without an Orange/Cotton/Sugar/Rose/Fiesta Bowl win and PSU fans are going to start sounding like Pitt and Syracuse fans. "At least we were really good x amount of years ago".

Strange you bring that up. I was talking to a VT grad at work today. He said that over the weekend he was talking with a UVA grad about the coaching changes and the UVA grad was pretty knowledge, well some how they got on State Penn how there was such a cover up. That only enough information was released and action taken to keep everyone satisfied. But the reality felt cby many that there was more than just Sanddusky and that these kind of people travel and hang in groups. Basically tip of the ice burg. I guess we will never know all the damage that was done.

Yes there were rumors about Spanier's past, child sex rings, the occult, etc. wouldn't shock me if there was a hint of truth to some of that. Was it a football issue though? No. But still some people out in those parts aren't playing with a full deck.

College football is the sleaziest sport--which is saying something at this point in time when cheating is rampant all over the place.

One would have to be naive to believe that the powerhouses are not engaged in providing monetary incentives to recruits and their families.

LOL! Yeah keep working that angle!!! I guess you didn't hear this past week. The judge threw out all the serious charges against Spainer, Curley and Schultz. You should contact the PA authorities with all these child sex rings you know about because no one in PA seems to know anything about them?

Please don't do this! If you piss Franklin off he takes things like Shaheed Blackwell, Will Fries, Charles Irvin, Juwan Johnson and now he just took your kicker so now you won't be able to kick FGs for the next couple of years! Can't we all just get along?

No way it can be true that the judge threw out the most serious charges. Link please?

Just remember the cult never will accept the truth and the truth is: legal technicalities make it hard to prove some of the charges, so their thrown out.
Just like there was evidence that Paterno was actively involved in the cover-up, but their wasn't enough evidence to charge him. There was evidence showing his involvement , but not enough to get a conviction and that's why he wasn't charged along with his underlings.
Cult members will claim he worked for ( name that pervert protector) but the truth is when it came to anything involving the football program Joe Paterno was boss.
Vicky Triponey of Penn St.'s Office of Judicial Affairs, the university's disciplinary arm , found that out when she went against Paterno and it cost her job .
The PSU President at that time (Spanier) told her, "You can't expect to change the culture" and that in "40 years he never saw anybody stand up to Joe Paterno."

Here you go. All the big charges are gone! Two minor one left but it is only a manner of time before those go as well! Hopefully they can sue for malicious prosecution.

http://www.pennlive.com/news/2016/01/spanier_curley_schultz_win_rou.html

All the big charges are not gone by a mile. Did you even read the article? Some of the charges, like obstruction of justice were dropped....but the most damning, in the eyes of the world...are still firmly in place.

Curley, the AD still faces charges including child endangerment, perjury, and failing to report suspected child abuse (that he covered it up.)

Spanier still faces charges of child endangerment and failure to report suspected child abuse (that he also covered it up.)

Schultz still faces counts of child endangerment and conspiracy to child endangerment.

You think these are minor? Really?

So pathetic you Penn State fans.

Not even close. Basketball will always be king. Hell, AAU basketball is worse than college football.

There is more to the story however you got to seek the truth on your own. If one relies on other people to tell them what happened then the conclusions are not your own. The answers are there, and they are not pretty. I've come to my own conclusion after months of researching. Critical thinking is lacking in America today, Most people trust whatever talking head they relate to and His/Her conclusion is the conclusion they will spout as fact.

Are you 11 years old? Yep....WR's and place kickers win you championships. Please, keep taking these overrated skill players and wasting scholarships on multiple kickers to boost your class rankings and "stick it to Rutgers". That's such a smart strategy. And "Shaheed Blackwell" sucks...he has not made an impact whatsoever. Don't worry...we will have an even better kicker in our class by Wednesday. See ya in November. By that time Coach Hype's job should be in jeopardy.

"Shaheed Blackwell"?

This person does not exist.

PSU fan too far up his own ass to know the names of their players.

All you need to do is watch the Documentary Happy Valley to understand how screwed up the whole culture at State Penn was and is from the administration all the way down to the fans. There is not a shred of jealousy among RU to that despicable place, only repulsion and a burning desire to beat the crap out of them on the field.

Let's not confuse or try to lump some things together. The PSU situation was a complete violation of any civil laws and should and hopefully will continue to be dealt with and punished acordingly.

The Ole Miss issues relate to NCAA regulations regarding competative advantage just like UNC and other schools. Unfortunately the NCAA is either blindness ineffective in msny cases such as this and perhaps for its own self interest. It would be most interesting if some schools brought suit against the NCAA folks for not doing a good job in enforcing or selectively enforce its own rules.

The entire UNC situation has dragged on for months now and yet (while I don't discount the seriousness of the PSU problem) the NCAA was quick to penalize PSU when the issues had nothing to do with achieving a competative advantage such as changing grades, providing illegal benefits and related areas that of be concern. This is what and where the NCAA has or should have reasonable juristiction. I often recall comments by Bobby Knight regarding how the NCAA seems to operate unevenly and he was and is correct.

Again the PSU situation was a horror and a total administrative screw up where I am not sure if all of the facts have come out. And as noted while some minor points may appear to have been dismissed the major items are still on the table.

Never gave much thought to penn state, always thought their idolization of their football coach was a bit disturbing, but whatever. Then once the Sandusky story broke, like countless others I made the trek to the BWI board to see if their was any insight as to how this atrocity could go on for so long. It really was shocking to read how a number of grown men seemed to have the priority of mitigating damage control to the football program and the even more fervent pedestalization of their St. Joe rather than concern for the victims or hope that the honest truth would come to light. I remember thinking, damn it really is a cult mentality over there. I was reminded of this a couple weeks ago. Forgive me for being too lazy to look for the article, but I was on the main rivals page and saw how there was an article mentioning possible signs of trouble or something to that effect at penn state. I checked it out to see what was up and it gave that Mike Farrell's take and that of a school's reporter take on issues pertaining to some different programs. Farrell talked about the assistants leaving for seemingly lateral jobs, the QB's thank you letter to everyone except his coach the last two years, and some decommits. The BWI reporter glossed over the coaches leaving, dismissed the QB letter, and it wasn't the "we didn't offer" bit but the writer downplayed the decommits. I mean of course I wasn't expecting the sky is falling response but damn, one of these events can happen anywhere, but 3 at a time? There has to be some rumblings or insight this reporter can give. But nope, just the standard cult response. Bizarre really.

Off the top of my head there are three types of people that send up a red flag to me, for various reasons. First, the overly religious. Second, overweight and unattractive women with short neon colored hair. Thirdly, BWI posters.

It absolutely was 100% about keeping football competitive, and it was never punished accordingly

This is why it is worth the time to read up on the whole sordid mess or just go on Netflix and watch Happy Valley.
This was not a case of a single person doing unspeakable things. This is about institutional and cultural blindness that permeates all the way down to the town and all of its fans.

Personally, Joe Pa lost me a long time ago when he ran it up against RU in the Meadowlands and then told Doug Graber where to get off. I was at that game and will never forget it.

On a legal tech. He didn't say no crime was committed, or there's no evidence, but that a witness wrongly gave testimony. Substantial difference

Your right they have no evidence of wrongdoing that is why they have to drop the charges. It has been 4 + years and they still haven't been able to bring Spanier, Curley and Schultz trial. That is bad thing and means the prosecution has no case made a rush to judgment and will have to eat crow just like in the Duke Lacrosse case. The conspiracy charges are gone. The mandatory reporting charge will be gone because none of them were mandatory reporters. They reported what they thought might have happened to the Director of the Second Mile (Jerry's Charity for children) who was a mandatory reporter (so much for the conspiracy to cover up the incident). There was no conspiracy to cover anything up and Joe was definitely not involved in any of this.

Not sticking up for Joe but just wanted to chime in so you can get your facts straight. I know, and saw that TD pass that was running up the score when there was no need to. As soon as MM threw that TD pass, Joe said, "what happened" meaning that he Did Not want that play called. MM changed the play on his own, not Joe.

Joe stayed way too long but I never saw him run up the score on anyone. The reason he said "bull shit" to Graber was because he was unaware, and did not want the pass play called.

Charges were dropped because Cynthia Baldwin violated attorney-client privilege when she testified against Shultz, Curley and Spanier. At the time of her testimony, Baldwin served as Penn State’s general counsel.
It wasn't that they didn't conspire ( with Joe Paterno) it was a legal technicality that caused the conspiracy and related cover-up charges to go away.
But all three pervert protectors are still awaiting trial on charges of suspected abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.
So you Cult NitWits can take your implications of innocence because of charges being dropped back to the showers and clean up your act.

If that is the case, then answer this for me (because not one single PSU fan has been able to answer this question for me yet) why didn't Paterno look the least bit angry on the sideline at his QB for not doing the play that was called, and for passing instead of just running out the clock? Why didn't he call McQueary over and yell at him for such an act of poor sportsmanship? Berate him for throwing the ball instead of running out the clock? It was clear as day to everyone, even to the announcers, that the play was rubbing it in and was classless.

There was a penalty on the play against Rutgers. Why didn't he take the penalty, thus bringing the play back...if he wasn't running up the score?

It is more likely that he was saying "What happened?" referring the flag, and who it was on.

And for him to say "bullshit" to a head coach under any circumstances showed he wasn't this great man that the PSU fans made him out to be. The he ran after Graber, looking to pick a fight like he was a wild animal. Poor, poor taste, and lack of class at its worst.

Allow me to give you some insight regarding "State Prosecutions" especially in New Jersey. The AG's Office loves getting an indictment and all the added press that goes along. However, when it comes time for a trial, they drag their feet since they know they will loose in court since they are totally incompetent. I have personally been involved with cases wherein numerous individuals were indicted for 2nd Degree Crimes and Racketeering. After seven years and countless Deputy AG's assigned to the prosecution, they allowed all 18 defendants to plead out to a 4th Degree Crime. They each ended up paying a $500.00 fine and walked. The AG's Office also got the big press they wanted from the indictments, but then lacked the competence to go to trial.

I have a feeling that PA is going through the same process with this case.

I could give a rats ass if all three of the accused were convicted of what they were indicted for, if they are, in fact, guilty as charged. But, I willing to bet that their cases will never see the light of a court room. The state will attempt a plea bargain which may have already begun. They AG's Office indicted them three years ago and there is no trial date in sight. What does that tell you? Their case is plenty weak indeed and the AG does not have the fortitude to proceed with trial because they will have to display their incompetence and will loose!

The game was over. Look at the video again and you can read Joe's lips when he said, "what happened"? He wasn't going pull MM to the sideline and chew him out when the game was over. But, I willing to bet that MM heard it from Joe after the game.

I'll never stick up for a coach who says bull shit to another coach. It was totally out of line on Joe's part. However, I don't know what Graber said to him, but I do know that Joe did not want that play to be a pass in order to run up the score. MM changed the play on his own, that is a fact.
