My Pike critiques from today

1. Biggest one is he took out Acuff in the first half when he’s the only guy scoring from outside.
2. Bury grant in the second half when Jeremiah couldn’t go? Huh?
3. Dortsch was so active in the first half and we bury him in the second.
The loss today wasn’t AS much on Pike as it usually is, but he did contribute. But hey, we won a game in the tourney four years ago.

The point of the thread is clear. RU accepts mediocrity. Pike’s record is pedestrian. Any other Big program would have fired a coach with these results! If I owned a team having this record I definitely would realize changes need to be made. RU should move on .

Don't totally agree. We got off to a slow start with JWill at the point. I don't think JMike came in until the 15 minute mark. Starting him might have been the difference between winning and losing.

Can you imagine how aggravated Pike must be tonight that Sommerville didn't take more 3-pointers? I mean everyone else on the team takes a million no-chance-in-hell-of-going-in 3-pointers every game ... so clearly this is what Pike wants. And Sommerville has the least chance of anyone of having it actually go in, so Pike must be frustrated as all can be that he's not taking more of them (despite their 0.0% chance of going in the basket).

because that’s what we do. on purpose. pike’s offense has always been isolation ball. not all offenses are the same.

our offense doesn’t create mismatches, find open players, etc.

besides, why run around if we have no good distributers ? Davis, Derkack, Sommerville, Grant and the entire roster. Not a single player, not even Harper, looks to set up teammates for good looks.

I don’t care about bs Assist stats. Passes before iso plays shouldn’t count but they of often are.

Who is the PG now ? Davis ? Derkack ? Do you think they are capable of running team offense? Not in the least.

So according to you the coach sucks, the supporting cast sucks, we run no offense, Dylan doesn’t play, Ace has a terrible shooting night…but we can win anyway if JMike started. Got it.
