thanks for video, recap and time you put into it., I agree with you on much of what you say here. I think expectations were blown up for some reason coming into November yet our roster is lacking. Recruiting mistakes and failures loom large. No one will cry for us if Paul is out a long time, RU needs to deal with it. I dont see RU beating Indiana unless the Hoosiers really shit the bed after its big win tonight
I don't think the whole recruiting theme makes sense yet. Don't forget he was recruiting from a bad position for many many years. It's not only until recent years where he can show success and the new building and all. We are in it for so many more big-time players where in the past they haven't even considered us. We just need to be a bit more patient. As far as the video recap, very cool and agree with most of it...I do think Cam will do well (Certainly better than last night!) going forward vs better teams. I was hoping for 12 ppg from him and I think we will get it (Or at least double digits). A good sign that McConnell played well offensively and yes we can use Paul back! Having said all of that, I would have liked to see more of Simpson last night (I haven't checked the box score but was surprised at his minutes. Seemed pretty low, unless I'm wrong... We always over hype our team (I think most fans do) but we seem to meltdown so quickly on these boards (Not you guys but the usual suspects)...Did we not learn from last year to let the team develop into what it will eventually be?thanks for video, recap and time you put into it., I agree with you on much of what you say here. Agree with you Bac....and really appreciate you taking the time to check the video out and respond. I always read and enjoy your game recaps so it means alot sir!
Expectations may have been a bit high. The Paul injury hurts too, but like you said, inquiries happen, figure it out.
One last point is I think in today's society with instant gratification a lot of people rush to judgment (Not saying YOU are since you are simply pointing out some legit concerns (Cam vs Temple & Miami) and it really takes away from enjoying the climb. So much negative noise...Hey look after week one the ESPN shows have to have Power ranking in the NFL...Do we really know or even need to discuss that after week 1 !? Most "experts" had the Cowboys cooked once Dak went down...I can point to example after example of making definitive statements about certain players or teams WAYYYYY too early...(Heck there is a resident expert on these boards that can tell if a HS kid will be good or even should be switched from CB to safety, LOL) It's a long grind of a season...everyone should hang in there and support this team...there will be ups and downs...Enjoy and hopefully we can close on Harper and a friend or two to make the next jump...
As Bac has repeatedly said, it comes down to recruiting (or lack thereof). Simpson and Spencer do not come close to making up for the loss of Harper, Jr. and Baker. And the bench players have not appreciably improved. And our competitors have restocked their talent. I am afraid if PM does not make it back soon, we may have to have a miracle run in the B10 Tournament to make it to the Dance.
Great you put yourself out there and more voices being heard always better for these boards
Expectations always seem to be driven by reports from beat writers like Carino and then rah rah comments by Pike and then we get some over exuberance in evaluating our players. We had many saying Hyatt was going to be really good this year and Simpson was a force immediately. Its going to take time for the latter and I dont see it with the former. Plus we have about 4 players that would see maybe 4 minutes tops on other Big 10 schools. Too many of those and correct me if Im wrong but are we missing a scholorship player???
AgreeA healthy Paul and we would have won the game. Im extremely concerned about his injury and when he returns, what can we expect? This is a very good team with Paul. Without him, just tough
Rutgers failed to bring in a point guard for this season and with Mulcahy out, the offense has great difficulty scoring. There are too many turnovers dribbling the basketball, too many misses layups and not enough points from the 3 point line or the bench.Bottom line there are too many complementary type players and not enough go to scorers to be successful in the BIG Ten on the road and possibly at the RAC.A healthy Paul and we would have won the game. Im extremely concerned about his injury and when he returns, what can we expect? This is a very good team with Paul. Without him, just tough
Simpson will be a fine player once he's gotten his feet under him . His shooting and playmaking need to improve. My concerns are about Hyatt. He just doesn't seem able to elevate his game and become a difference maker in game.Great you put yourself out there and more voices being heard always better for these boards

Our leading scorer at the half. You don’t have the hoops smarts to comment on these boards.Hyatt: He doesn’t have the heart or hoops smarts to be an effective player
