I see us getting 6 in for sure (Shawver, Olivieri, Sea Bass, MVB, Poz, Bulsak), and up to 8 (Kanniard and Boone have to do work). We have no shot at 165 and 174.

So far the season has been disappointing. We were optimistic that Alvarez, Poz, Rivera, and Turley would AA with MVB and Bulsak having a chance to AA. Based on the most recent coaches poll Shaver has one win over a higher ranked guy, Bulsak has one win, and Boone has two. No one else does and we didn't beat any team ranked higher than us. This is not what most of us expected in November. While we had injuries preventing guys from wrestling so did other teams as Iowa and Oklahoma State both lost a NC to injury and other teams lost All Americans. The bright spot was Rivera. He wrestled like a champion and could win it all - if healthy. If we get 3 All Americans, we should be happy. It just won't be what was expected. Hope springs eternal;..

Iowa and Ok, are in a different league overall in wrestling ability and backups. It's hard to compare to them. While I am in agreement on the disappointment, such is life. Bulsak is a nice surprise that I feel you omitted. He has wrestled some top guys very close and has been something we haven't seen at '97 since when? If he cleans his act up, he will be an AA. MVB has wrestled very solid all year and he is capable of a run. Poz, well I hope he can get over what ails him.

not comparing us to Iowa or OK State. Just saying they both lost a national champ and may not AA at that weight. Was just hoping we could be top ten this year, Every November hopes are high. Something happens and we decline. Other than the Ashnault/Suriano year we have never cracked the Top Ten. Just don't understand why it seems to be the same every year. Still hopeful that we turn it on for the Big Tens and NCAAs.

Now do those ranked wins with Rutgers wrestlers rankings and opponents rankings AT THE TIME they wrestled. Saying #11 Bulsak beats #8 Bonaccorsi is misleading and being disingenuous. At the time, Bonaccorsi was #2 and I do not recall where Bulsak was, but doubt #11. That was a HUGE win, Same with Oliveri, and Van Brill wins. What does downplaying our wrestlers biggest wins accomplish for you?

There are only a few elite programs who could lose a NC and possibly have an AA caliber replacement waiting in the wings. It's remotely possible. It ain't happening at RU at this time. Let's not kid ourselves. But...Olivieri in place of Sammy has me intrigued. As far as Nicky and AA year. They carried the entire team that year. There weren't many other points gained by the rest if the team. Point being, the team now is more complete than AA/Nick years. Too bad of the injuries/weight issues. This might have been our best year under ideal conditions. Otherwise, RU wrestling is in a pretty good spot. Sit back and enjoy the wrestling.

Anyone close to the program have an update on Rivera’s knee?
