"After all of the conference tournaments have concluded, the NCAA Division I Wrestling Committee will meet in-person to select the remaining 44 at-large qualifiers, which will be announced on March 12, while brackets and seeding will be announced on NCAA.com at 6 p.m. on March 13. All weight classes will consist of 33 wrestlers. The at-large selections will be made based on the following criteria: head-to-head competition; quality wins; coaches' ranking; results against common opponents; RPI; qualifying event placement; and winning percentage."

Our guys who are unranked still have a decent chance of qualifying for the Nationals later in March. The Big10 Tourney next week is HUGE !

Guys like Lipari, JVB , Grello, Gravina, evern Glasgow and Colucci have real chances. Correnti a longer shot based on few allocations for his weight class.

Good luck , Guys ! Go RU !

Lipari and JVB both have good shots now with 9 qualifiers. Grello with 8 qualifiers I could see him sneaking in with an above average tourney. Gravina with 8, healthy could easily qualify. Glasgow even with 9 I don't see it. Metzlar, Correnti and Colucci I don't see them having a shot in hell. I think we can send 5 if Nick is healthy. Anything above that I think is a good tourney, anything below kind of disappointing.

Yeah I think we send at least 5, maybe 6 (Ash, Suriano, JVB, Gravina if healthy, Lipari, and Grello). Colucci or Glasgow to make it 7 would be gravy. I doubt Metzler or Correnti make it to the dance.

I don't see how Collucci can realistically get in.
Hermida did not get an automatic bids.

Collucci has not beaten any of the top heavies or proven he can pull 2/3 upsets in a row to get 7th.

I hope he proves my gut feeling wrong.

I would say not sending more than half the starters is simply not acceptable. I know we have had what is likely an unusually high number of injuries.

I hope we see with the time off, a surprising glasgow. Someone who looks more like the aa type we, or I was expecting. Like to see him, and everyone really step up.

5 starters should definitely make it NS,AA,JVB,Grello & Gravina.

133-Suriano
141-Lipari (He can make a run knocking of a couple of guys)
149-AA
157-JVB
165-Glasgow (Damaged is done for the season - Botched year)
174-Grello
184-Gravina (I have a good feeling it's all going to come together)
HWT-Colucci (Possibly can sneak in)

I would give Correnti a shot even with only 5 spots. He has the potential, avoid the wtf moments.

Good article today by Kratch in NJcom going through the Big10 Tourney, weight class by weight class, talking about each of our guys chances of getting an AQ allocation or chances at an at large:

PS- Only the Finals will be on BTN TV, the other rounds will be on BTNplus and flowrestling.

Going to be quite the work day for me with my iPad logged into Flo all day :cool2:

Edit: For some reason I assumed it started Friday afternoon. Please replace work day with weekend on coach.

Ah the weekend that absolutely nothing gets accomplished and my wife wonders if I'm ever going to get off the couch is almost here.

This SUCKS but remember last year it was Hoops semis weekend on national yv this year that’s not the case.

If Micci wins, he will be #1.
If he loses, probably #2 or #3
If fix wins B12, he will be #1 or #2

Only way Nick would avoid them would be if Micci & FIx loses and Nick gets the #1 Seed (IMO). Dayton may or may not jump Suriano if he loses.

Is there any way Nick avoids Micic/Fix in the semi’s at NCAA’s? Don’t think so as they’ll be 1-2 regardless of what happens at B1G’s, correct?

Nick needs to worry about scoring on his feet against the big boys and winning the B1G tournament. If he gets to the final 4 at Nationals, he most likely is getting a stud either way. Time to deliver this Sunday.
