2nd quarter on the road against the #15 team. Ilinois currently driving for tying TD. And this a team some of you expect us to beat? There's some seriously delusional ppl on this board.

But I guess Lovie just lucked out and stepped into a situation where his predecessor left him loads of talent unlike our poor coach.

New mexico made bowl game last year and I believe is better than Illinois. At home we can't beat them?

Illinois is in the same boat as us.

Both rebuilding.

Why can't we be competitive in a similar situation? UW would be a good example, on the road against a top 10-20 team. Lovie has IL playing good ball in year 1. I guess we have to wait 4 years until Ash gets "his" guys to fit his system. Ridiculous. #RUlowbar

IL 16-10. They might win this game outright. Its quiet in Lincoln. You can overachieve with lesser talent and a good coaching staff.

Just stop. UW is top 5. Nebraska nowhere near as talented.

Plus, it was the first game..and we traveled across country. Don't compare the two.

Pretty far fetched comparison IMO. UW just proved to be a Top 5 team and potential playoff team. Nebraska's best win is against a struggling 2-2 Oregon team. Nebraska is only a contender in the West division basically by default because everyone else besides Wisconsin sucks in that division.

What happened in the Illinois game OP I m dying to know. Been two hours without an update. Do i need to google it?

Did not agree with Lovie's decision to punt with about 3 minutes or so left and 4th and 2. IL's defense was clearly not going to stop NEB's offense at that point. Lovie needs to adapt to the college game. That said, IL was in the game until the last 2 minutes of the game against a top 20 team on the road in a hostile environment. It might be four years before Chris Ash will accomplish same.
