To be fair, I'm sure that their reactions would have been ten-fold if they walked in and saw cash waiting for them. And this is why I can't stand when student-athletes complain they need to get paid. For 4 years they get free school, food, clothes, shoes and living, as well as academic help, usually get some sort of job hookup (if they dont go pro) after college. These athletes are normally well taken care of.
Free health care while on scholarship too. I mean FREE. Got a headache? Call the team Doc & get asprin. Need supplements? Do not go to GNC call team Doc. They also get a per diem. And this is why I can't stand when student-athletes complain they need to get paid. At the same time, these kids make tremendous sacrifices to stay in shape, become better players so they don't lose their scholarships.

Basketball is an Olympic sport.I feel bad for the Olympic sports kids. They are often splitting scholarships and don't get the love that football/basketball gets, while dedicating the same amount of time and effort.

@Woody522 If I get to choose I choose basketball but these kids don't get to choose. Most of the kids on the basketball team can't afford college tuition, room & board. Fortunately for them they've been blessed with physical attributes & they combined hard work to get that scholarship offer.
@higgins3 the B1G does very well.
