New Brunswick parking garage being torn down

The parking garage between Liberty and Bayard, and behind Hub City Brewhouse (formerly WOB) and Esquina Latina Restaurant has been vacant for several months now. Some sort of construction activity is being started there, and it appears that the parking garage will be torn down. Some guy at the Esquina told me that it will be some sort of city park now. That would be great if it is true, but I am somehow doubtful that will be the case. Does anyone know what is going on?

All street parking spots on Bayard and Liberty, east of George Street are no longer available, making it even more difficult to find parking.

No, this is a much smaller parking garage, but it still takes up about half a city block
