In his Scarlet Knight debut, senior Rudy Winkler broke the Rutgers outdoor hammer throw record with a result of 71.76m (235' 05"), finishing fourth in the event. The previous record of 64.99m (213' 3") was set in 2016 by former Scarlet Knight Joseph Velez.

Okay:
1st place - 12 feet further BUT not a collegiate athlete
2nd - 5’ further a Florida kid
3rd - 5” further a Florida kid
....Winklers NCAA title winning throw, last year, would’ve beaten all but 1st place today. Good stuff!

Video looks like the concrete throw area was drenched. That can’t be safe. Or maybe I’m just seeing things.

Great start especially when you consider Florida is on their home turf and has had better training weather. Rudy will be just fine!!!!!
