New Starting line up....Jwill 6th man

While this is mostly true, I don’t think it’s true in all cases.

For example NFL coaches used to make egregious 4th down strategy errors all the time.

It’s a lot less work to pick out an error than it is to not make any errors. Someone who would have no hope of holding a candle to Pike as a coach can still conceivably identify an error he is making.
But we fans all identify what we think are errors in hindsight. And in many cases, what we identify as the error by the coach isn’t what we think it is; we’re missing information the coaches have which is necessary to do a proper analysis.

Anyway, while it might be fun for fans to play at knowing better than pro coaches, it seems like a few people genuinely believe they know better than the coaches. They post as if the coaches are dumb. Which is silly.

Davis has played very unselfishly of late and does not take the ball out of Dylan's hands. If anything, he's been an asset to Dylan unless you want Dylan to go one on one every single time down the floor.
Yep. Like everyone else, he has bad moments he’ll wish he had back, especially after games and in film review. But he’s had more and more good moments and has apparently been a net positive factor in games. Which probably explains, in part at least, why he’s been starting.

One thing is clear, he’s continuing to improve.

It's literally impossible to for someone to be able to score as a 5 man, unless there is a commitment to provide opportunities to score by passing the 5 man the ball.

You can't have it both ways, a wing or guard can create their own offense on the perimeter.
Or scoring through offensive rebound putbacks, or getting fouled while rebounding. To score as 5 you either have to be given the ball or get it on your own through rebounding.

Stop! He is not a D1 player. Pike playing him at all is grounds for termination. Gives you nothing on the glass or on the offensive end.
Everyone talks about his defense and how important it is. False ! effort and running around is not skill or great defense. He is getting abused in blow byes and are rotations are so poor that it’s hurting us.
He is statistically our worst player By far.

He’s D1 level player because there are 300+ teams and he’s good enough to be end-of-the-bench somewhere.

But he’s certainly not good enough to get much playing time in any high major conference.

It’s very damning that he and Derkack see the court so much. They’re out of control, can’t make layups or jumpers and can’t box out to save their lives.

Absolutely fair.

Low level D1 bench minutes absolutely.

Definitely not D1 power 5 that has nothing on the offensive end and is avg defensively at 6 ft 1.

100 agreed the most damming point is our coaching staff playing them 25 plus mins

Very good OREBers can get 12+% of misses. Thats 3 chances if you are in the game for 24 misses
Which could be about half your points if you average double digits as a five. Throw in another 2-3 free throws from rebounding fouls and and-ones.

Getting fed in the post is not the only way for fives to score - being a good rebounder is the other.
