Nixon Provillon WR epected to walk-on

Daughters team just won a ASA qualifier this past weekend. She led the team in hitting with a 600 average for the tournament, we are happy with her hitting instructor.
Lets give your daughter the credit Aaron, she's gifted. The girl can obviously flat out mash…congratulations my man, how much fun is that to watch bases loaded no where to put her…tie game/last inning.
I have to say, I'm more nervous watching my 11 year old in that situation than myself being in it at Three Rivers Stadium.
As an ex player I worry about defense just as much…lol
For every run you let in you gotta save one with a play or drive in two.

Funny you say that. The championship game was tied at end of regulation so we went to ITB, with 1 out the other team loaded the bases to try and get the force at home, she was up to bat and hit a single to win it.

Her defense has actualy always been better than her hitting. She plays 2nd and short and leads the team in assists.

Love to watch the girls suck up ground balls and make a good accurate throw, try that on a rock hard sun baked infield on a hard hit ball…one of the hardest skill sets in all of sports.

She loves playing defense so it's easier for her because it doesn't feel like work. Hitting is definitley the hardest thing for her and what she has to put the most work into it. We spend hours and hours every week working on drills and tee and have chnaged her stance and swing over the winter and it is paying off.

Last thing Akron,
I'm talking about the developmental age.
7 year olds should be working on balance, using their hands correctly and trying to get some speed into their movements.
Batting coaches for girls who haven't learned how to make contact or catch yet is a waste of time...go throw a ball against a wall for an hour.
I fully realize the necessity for the most part of girls like your daughter that need that next level instruction
Try the bottle caps anyway, it's an awesome old school hand and eye developer

If your kids are good athletes and have that gifted hand and eye coordination you CAN'T TEACH, you'll know because they'll play up, playing up is better than any individual instruction in any sport.

No doubt you can't teach: gifted hand and eye coordination -or- pure raw speed -or- determination - or- advantageous height .... and in most all instances - an appropriate level of 'playing up' - taking on the challenge of facing tougher competition- will produce improvements.
However, there are situations where the involvement of a wise & insightful coach can expedite progress & can provide instruction that may help to steer away from avoidable mistakes and avoidable injuries. The value of one-on-one coaching is also probably greater in sports where performance is purely a function of the individual - and where subtle refinements in technique may make the difference between making a championship qualifying time - or not. Some sports have advanced far, far beyond fundamental athleticism and skill - some sports have evolved in a way that now requires a mastery of non-intuitive or counter-intuitive technique nuances.

A wise man once said "You can observe a lot just by watching." - and it would stand to reason that you can learn a whole lot more, a whole lot faster if somebody can clue you in on specifically what to watch (or not watch)

We use the sklz balls and a pvc pipe. they are smaller than golf balls but still round and fly nice.
