NJ Higher Ed Funding

Thanks for sharing.

I think the cost of higher education is going to be a major major spotlight in this country for the next few years. Sparked by the outside the box plans being pitched by some of the presidential hopeful candidates on student debt and cost of higher education.

Lol no easy answer?

We need an on-campus movie theater when movie theaters are going the way of the dinosaur? We need dozens of administrators and assistants? We need every student to live in their own private room with a kitchen area with granite counter tops and a pool in the facility?

But the Universities can't figure out why tuition is expensive? Comical.

Movie theater is heavily utilized and is used as lecture halls during the day.

The dean overload is a problem.

You're hilarious. I lived in the towers for four years with broken elevators and no AC. What dorm has it's own pool? I'll wait.

You need to visit Livi. I was exaggerating about the pool but everything else is correct. The current students are spoiled rotten with amenities but then complain about tuition. Can't have it both ways.

At least as to housing, you are wrong. Student housing is self-supporting. There are many more administrators and assistants, but a lot of these are needed now that running a university has become so complex. As for the theatre, do you know that it is running in the red?

Visit Livi? I graduated last year, I was in my friend's Livi apartment on Saturday to hang out. Several other of my friends lived in the Yard, etc. Yes, they have four people per apartment, who share a living space and a kitchen. That's hardly a new thing; and plenty of other spaces on campus have single rooms. Student's pay to live in those dorms, if they want to live in the super nice ones, they pay to do so. If they don't, their bill is less. Probably the most "luxury housing" aspect of them is that there are a couple of treadmills.

I lived in the Towers my freshman year, so I know all about it.

Agreed. Unreal the conditions they live in now.

They haven't changed since.
