No. 13 Rutgers Women’s Lacrosse Opens Big Ten Tournament Friday with No. 4 Northwestern

What a cheap shot by Girardi on NW with 10 seconds left...

Regardless, great win by our Scarlet Knights!

Ok so why not do the same with the men?
Another Question. When ball is going out of bounds, one Team member from each team appears to sometimes dive at the ball, even though they could be 20 ft from the ball. Looks really funny. Learning the game but some things the players I laugh at (again just lack of understanding of the game).

That’s because an out of bounds ball in LAX goes to the team with the closest player to it. There are often hustle plays where the diving person gets his or her stick out further than the seemingly closer player and win the ball back

Just to clarify for runner, it’s the player closest to the ball on a shot. An errant pass that goes out of bounds is a turnover.

No. 13 Women’s Lacrosse Advances to Big Ten Final with Historic Win over No. 4 Northwestern

The win marked one the program's biggest in its 46-year history, as it defeated Northwestern for the first time in 17 chances and delivered its first-ever win over a top-5 ranked opponent. The victory helped RU set a program record for wins in a season at 15 and advanced Rutgers to its first Big Ten Conference title appearance since it joined the league in 2014-15. Sunday will be just the program's second appearance in a conference championship, as it faced Penn State in the 1998 ECAC title game.

You seem to know a lot about this sport. Is stick tampering really that prevalent that they have to inspect the stick after every goal? I mean was rampant cheating so widespread at one time in the sport that they had to implement this rule?
Actually yes, there are strings at the bottom of the stick that can be pulled to make the string legal and this actually happened a few years ago in the NJ TOC where the game winning goal was scored and then a player adjusted the stick to make it legal. This is why girls immediately drop there stick to guarantee that they do not adjust the stick.

In the mens game a coach can ask for a stick check at anytime and the refs do required stick checks multiple time per game. As well the guys sticks are setup slightly differently and they use mesh vs traditional sticks which is tougher to adjust quickly.

The women soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse championship games are hosted at RU. Look who made the finals.

Can we get a B1G football championship scheduled at SHI?

It's got something to do with opposing teams being able to challenge the legitimacy of the scorer's stick, so the scorer drops her stick so the refs can check it without a resulting challenge.
It’s the netting. If it’s too loose it’s illegal.

No - football championship is at a neutral site, not at a campus site.

5 goals in the girls game? Unreal defensive performance and a dissection from the offense. Impressive.

Yeah our defense was SUPERB last night. The girls were very connected and timed their slides masterfully to cut off NW’s attempts to run down the lanes.
