No. 2 Seed Rutgers Women's Soccer to Host No. 7 Seed Minnesota for B1G Quarterfinal

The consistency with which the girls are victims of bad officiating is striking. I don't know what is going on there. O'Neill has to start letting them have it. We are way too passive in response to what in some cases have been deliberate non-calls (PSU last year).

Game of inches.Re watched the Minny goal on their website. Their girl played a through ball into our D third. Amanda Visco [ quite sure] dove to head the ball away but didn't get it all. It deflected off her head straight to the oncoming Big Ten leading scorer who played the ball off her body to her feet, took a few dribbles & struck a perfect shot. Chantell Swaby, was cruising, as is her custom, to the girl's outside & slightly behind. She then turned it on but was just to late to make a play on the ball.

Looks like our coaches spend a lot of time on strategies, formations & the like. Not sure if they devote time to individual players' skills, tendencies & weaknesses. For example, as discussed above, some of our girls' tendencies to dribble too far out in front of themselves, Chantell's & Adora's to cruise along until they have to turn it on, one girl's to hold on to & play with the ball too long. Perhaps the coaches do work on these or don't see them as problems. Not at practices, so don't know.

Wish the video department would create summaries of bad officiating after each contest ... would be awesome to show 30+ non-holding calls, or a hand ball, foul in front of a goal, etc.

I know we can harp on the officiating and believe me I was screaming at the ref and the female line judge because she had no clue what offsides was but again and I know they missed the handball in the box in the last minute but that game was lost by the fact when you have four clear breakaways and cannot finish one you don't deserve to win and also the fact that we played with no urgency and created absolutely no offense besides those breakaways is the reason we lost that game. This will also be the reason if we even make the NCAA tournament we will not get past the first round.

Certainly agree on the breakaways & no urgency until the end. However, it remains that with correct calls there is a probability or good possibility that we would have won that game. But the officiating issue goes well beyond the last game. I have gone to almost every home game for the last 5 or 6 years & watched most others either on TV or on the computer. We routinely & regularly get the shaft on the calls. This has been a pattern. Very, very difficult to overcome in every instance. I have been involved in athletics both as a player, coach & fan for over 60years. I know what I've been looking at. Both points regarding 1] our play & 2] the officiating are correct & are not mutually exclusive.
