No. 3 Rutgers Field Hockey Concludes Regular Season at No. 8 Iowa Friday

Despite the (heartbreaking) loss to #1 Northwestern on Sunday, Rutgers climbed in the weekly Coaches Poll to #3, jumping over North Carolina. The Coaches Poll is below. Rutgers is somehow still just 5th in the RPI, confoundingly behind a 10-5 Virginia team that is just 3-4 at home this year. As you can see, our last regular season opponent (Iowa) is #8 in the Coaches Poll with a 12-4 record. That game is on Friday at 5pm ET.

I think the loss to Northwestern will turn out to be a blessing in disguise as we won't have the pressure of an undefeated season, we got our loss out of our system now and finally it will make us more hungry especially if we play them again.

I hear you, but I would rather the team have beaten #1 Northwestern to secure the regular season title and then lost on the road to Iowa.

I also wonder how a team comes back from having their hearts ripped out like this, Temple of Doom style. Hopefully motivates them, but there’s a chance it distracts them going forward.

While what happened to us vs. Northwestern stinks, we did survive three other shootout situations. Maybe fate finally decided we'd had enough good fortune.

That said, I'd like to see a win today to show that they are able to get past this and continue to chop away.

Live stat tracker from Iowa (linked on Scarletknights.com), says 0-0 after 1, but shows no shots or any other stats.
If that possible?
Or just not working properly?

Don't think we even have a shot on Goal. Have seen many games--not the same team.

2 seed for the tourney since they thankfully own the tiebreaker over Maryland.

The offense even when winning games was subpar. This game the defense was missing in action.Hopefully, tournament competition will create some urgency for improvement.

Hangover from Northwestern. Hopefully they are refocused for what's to come.
