NO parking in Johnson Park this year!

The parking area between Landing Lane and the South Gate is the area that I referred to as holding 300 cars.

The paved lot further down River Rd, on the other side of Rt 18, would not command the same premium. That is about as far from the stadium as the Black lot.

I hear you ....but I think the area you are referring to holds a lot more than 300 cars.

Was this just Johnson Park or were they also the ones reaping havoc on the blue lot with their ATVs last year?

The ticket givers in Blue lot were MCSD. One guy was a good guy though...the tried to walk ahead of the ticket giver & warn people.
I see. Well they can get lost. Even if it means losing the park. They were a pain in the you-know-where.

I know that there is no tailgating allowed in Buccleuch Park but is it still at least a parking option for Day games?

Welp this is certainly aggravating. Does anyone know if there is tailgating at any of the gameday lots that don't involve taking a shuttle from the RAC? Preferably somewhere that is adjacent to an open grass area where we can have some beers and throw a football/frisbee around.

Someone on the RU Football Facebook page said they heard the county was sued over the parking. "The park was purchased with green acres funds which means limited use. Plus there was a lot of damage every week".
Seems plausable

There is game day parking in a lot basically across from the microbiology building (with the clock by the golf course). It's close to the tan lot, maybe 3/4 mile walk to the stadium or maybe a bit less. You can tailgate but it is paved. Might be able to just walk across the street into the tan lot, which is grass, to throw the ball around. Several years we had multiple yellow or blue passes and one tan pass that we used if someone had to leave early. Not too bad a walk and very easy to get out of.

Using Google Maps or Bing Maps, you can actually count the spaces in lots that have lined spaces.

The paved lot by the racetrack holds 215 cars. The lot is about 70,600 square feet. That means there is about 328 square feet per car. State parking lot code requires no less than 270 square feet per car (https://rutgers.forums.rivals.com/threads/football-parking-update.85746/page-3#post-1840686).

The old parking area near the south gate of the stadium is about 100,000 square feet (you can see the fencing in the Bing Maps satellite picture of the area). At 270 sq ft per car, that means it holds a maximum of 370 cars. At 328 sq ft per car, it holds 305 cars.

I always thought the Johnson Park area was the best deal around. So close to the stadium and an incredible view. They should bring it back and double the price. Mostly away fans anyway.
They doubled the price last year. I think they were getting $40 per game there. Not sure why the county is foregoing this cash cow.

I tried Johnson Park last year with the trend moving towards me being all the way out by Purple and having a long walk for more money. Figured I would pay $20 to park in the shadow of the stadium instead....and not have to pay for parking for games I didn't attend. Well, two days before the first game they jacked the prices up. Thankfully I decided to bump up the donations and get back into the RU parking lots this year.

I have been told that Middlesex County has decided NOT to allow parking anywhere in Johnson Park this year. No free first responder parking in Grove 4. No public parking anywhere else.

They MAY allow parking for bigger games like tOSU but that will be decided as it gets closer to game day. As of right now there is no parking arrangements for at least the first 3 games.

I have been given no reason for this.
I really liked parking in Buccleuch Park, and would happily pay $40 for the option. This would have to be a money maker for the town.
