NOAH

Your screen name describes most of the armchair coaches here. Same ones saying Mag is the savior and the reason we won and giving Pike 0 credit and his ripping everyone a new one and adjustments such as starting JD as pg and telling Gavin to stop thinking and just shoot had nothing to do with it.

Tonight? Beast!!!!!!!!!!!! How 'bout the behind the head dime to Cliffy. Whoa baby!!!!!! Too bad Cliff missed the dunk. Still though. Was something. And critical free throws, plus a couple of DAGGER threes. Ahhh yes. NOAH.

Feel free to go through the last month of threads. My stance on Noah hasn’t changed.

After watching tonight‘s game, I want every single inbounds play at the end of a game when RU to go to Noah when we are protecting a close lead. Dude hit like six straight free throws. He is money and he is our guy at the end of the game.

With you 100% so many so quick to shit all over kids with these BS absolute statements. Love the clowns who knee jerked reaction and pick us to win 2-4 big ten games.

Didn’t miss. Was fouled. And he t both FTs

Kid is at new school and people want to kill him. just a joke.
I thought he was a big addition in the offseason, and glad to see him pull it together today, but he is just here for one year, he needs to play well now.

NO MORE BULLSHIT from the haters “he’s not a player at this level” blah blah bullshit….Thank you!
He scored a lot late but was shaky with the ball at the point. Let's see what he does against B1G competition. Freshman JD was better than him tonight, and much, much better on defense. And why would you call someone who thought he was not a great player at this level a hater. I think that way and I don't hate anybody. And not for nothing, but SHU is pretty bad. I'll give him credit for having his best game so far, but, outside of Richmond, who abused him at times, SHU is loaded with mid level talent, and will finish near the bottom of the Big East.

Huh? Who is giving Pike 0 credit? There were multiple threads about Pike and the coaching job giving him credit. I don't think I've seen even one post saying Pike deserves no credit

When UMASS beat us two years ago, Noah opened and closed that game by scoring on our two most heralded defenders. Both of which had about 7"+ on him.

We agree that one of those defenders is National DPOY level.
Sounds like Pike thinks the other can be at a similar level.

That has to put things in context.

Noah has been a solid addition to the team. Some teams have taken advantage of his lack of height, but Noah has made up for it in other ways. He scores within the flow of the offense and he's been clutch at the free-throw line when we needed him. We would be in real trouble if we didn't have him on the team. Let the guy continue to grow with the team

Would like to see some consistent good play against Big 10 competition before I say that.
That's fair....no question....but some here were coming down really hard on him when it likely has been a case of this entire "new" team just struggling to figure things out together (roles, minutes, etc).

Great night for Noah. I still want to see more JMike and Simpson backcourt. That's the future and that has a higher top end. Also, Noah, stop stepping out of bounds.

@AreYouNUTS - earlier post on
"Your screen name" made me wonder - any 2nd guessing it should have been RUNuts ?
Funny thing is it wasn't my first "board name." I think - and it was on the old Exit 9 (???) board, IIRC - I originally went by "Sir Galahad" aka "The Perfect Knight, lol! Went with AreYouNUTS because "RUNuts" was already taken.

True story: at my bowl game party in Birmingham "RUNuts" put "AreYouNUTS" on his name tag, for some reason, and got away with it until I showed up and John O pointed it out to me!

This has been a problem - kinda like layups.- in our program for a while now. I've never seen a team, both home and on the road, called for stepping out-of-bounds so consistently often!

Noah and Simpson have to be on the floor when the opposition is fouling intentionally and we’re clinging to 3 possession leads.
Probably make a case when we’re in the bonus also

Fans overreact to the last thing that happened. JMike had a good game...so...JMike is the answer! Forget all the bad games he had.

All these players will continue to have good and bad games. As long as they all continue to get better, and they are, all is well.

this....but for this game J Mike had a breakout and its a game he needed to have and the program needed to have. Seeing those flashes from him

On Noah, he has to be more consistent. Getting there but his previous two games were not good at all.

Your point is everything. Its getting better and more consistent in stretches of games. Mississippi State is a big test

Listen it takes everyone time to adjust and Noah missed a majority of last year. He was great against hall on Saturday.

Let’s not act like he was completely outmatched at home against Illinois. I’m still not sure why we thought he could guard Shannon but that was a joke.

Season is long and we need the Noah from Saturday night but in our one league game he did not belong on the court. There is still reason for doubt

Noah can perform at this level but teams with bigger guards will try to post or go over him. He’ll need to battle or get help on defense. No doubt he’s a mature dude with quick feet and can create space to get his shot off.

Like him on the floor with game on the line on the offensive end. Just have some concern on the defensive end because of his size but can be mitigated with a Mag on the court if he’s fully locked in hitting outside shots, driving to dish, directing offense and hitting FTs.

Noah is a plus player.

GO RU

Its a problem in all of college basketball, you see it several times a game in almost every game that I watch(which is a lot), especially on the wings where there is not much space between the 3pt line and the endline.

Noah’s play has continued to improve. He does many things well except for getting the ball to Cliff on the low block. He still misses some wide open chances there when his head is down and he doesn’t see a wide open Cliff for a dunk.

I know I was shocked to not see Simpson in their late given his FT shooting. But Noah did great.

Especially on pick and roll opportunities. I am so used to Big Ten players grabbing onto Cliff so he cannot roll.. but for a few games now he has had open paths tot eh hoop and Noah.. and others.. with their head down and not a look to Cliff... shocks me. And it has to disappoint Cliff.. who is doing the work necessary to get those open slams (or fouls) but we don't get to see it.
