NOAH

Funny thing is it wasn't my first "board name." I think - and it was on the old Exit 9 (???) board, IIRC - I originally went by "Sir Galahad" aka "The Perfect Knight, lol! Went with AreYouNUTS because "RUNuts" was already taken.

True story: at my bowl game party in Birmingham "RUNuts" put "AreYouNUTS" on his name tag, for some reason, and got away with it until I showed up and John O pointed it out to me!
Remember that old site, thought it was exit 109?

A Msg board doppelganger - LOL

Last 6 games, Noah has scored 10, 12, 19, 3 vs ILL, 13, 19
12.7 ppg, 2.5 apg, 2.7 rpg, 2.0 TOs

He is starting to get comfortable and develop chemistry with the team.

Noah has been a solid addition to the team. Some teams have taken advantage of his lack of height, but Noah has made up for it in other ways. He scores within the flow of the offense and he's been clutch at the free-throw line when we needed him. We would be in real trouble if we didn't have him on the team. Let the guy continue to grow with the team
Finally a guy ( cubuffsdoug) who understands Noah’s contributions. Noah though an average human height has and will continue to find ways to help this team get better in 2023-24. If you can shoot and score teams will find a way to win.

Just to be fair:

Noah had a BAD game today - it will happen - but bad nonethess so I've gotta be fair! Sitting in the family seats down in Row A, Sec 105, and getting to see him up close a bunch of times, he looked a little "out of it TBH. Hopefully just a 1-game thing and he comes back strong vs MSU!!!

He will have some good games, but overall I think he struggles at both ends of the court in the B1G. I'm hoping not.

Maybe his young kid kept him up.

I like to see teams that have players taking turns being the one we all say had a great game. No matter who they are, individuals that constantly have the pressure of delivering night after night in order to win are going to have days they just can't do it. If you don't have players that can step up and fill in, you are going to lose games you thought you should win.
Kind of neat to have guys who spend most of the time on the bench and/or in the shadows of the stars become the stars of the day.

Ha! Yeah he had that "look' like "I need my bed" the entire game lol!!
Whenever he's had bad games it looks like he's a step slow and not in game shape. Never looks like he doesn't have the skills his bad games look like hes tired or not getting enough sleep...

Noah can definitely play at this level - the issue is if you are going to have someone that small you need to surround him with big guards in B1G play. JMike and Derek not big guards. Poorly constructed backcourt from a size perspective - I think we get exposed in B1G play.

Yeah, in the off-season I thought they would add a 6'5"+ wing player/guard from the transfer portal to handle/defend people like Terrance Shannon jr. That didn't materialize, then I thought Gavin Griffiths would play 2 guard, his handle and defense isn't where it needs to be yet. At this point I'm guessing mag will play that roll of defending the opposing teams best wing player..Davis did ok when guarding Shannon jr but he really exposed the small guard lineup. He was literally laughing the whole game lol

Rutgers needs players like Baker and Harper at crunch time.Depending on bench players hasn't proved to be successful in recent seasons.Long scoring droughts this season proves the point.

Yeah - this team needs a leader. Kind of hoping it would have been Noah, but not seeing that at this point. Short of Noah I don't think a leader exists on this team.

We lost both Paul & Cam late in the process, which wasn’t the plan.

We also added both Austin & Jeremiah Williams who are big guards at 6’4 & 6’5”.

So, I think the roster “construction” is ok given the circumstances.

Pike coaches to matchups, so if the B1G rolls around and our guys can’t handle it, I’m sure Austin will get some more run.

Just keep in mind they are going against each other every day in practice. If Davis is outplaying Austin (for example) there’s not much rationale to suggest he isn’t also the better option against our opponent who may be similar size.

The game is a lot more than just height.

I think size at guard is also less of a glaring issue now that Mag is back.
