If you guys were on premium you would've known that we cooled on him a while ago. We have two better commits at WR than him with Mack and Wright. Contrary to popular belief stars don't mean everything.

Correct - 99% of the issue is money - and that relates to 99% of the issues at RU, not just football.
Wasn't it (booster) money that extended Flood; at the behest of JH. If people see that you are smart with your money/business/athletic program they'll give you more via investments/donations.

People will be willing to pay for return; be it earnings or football wins.

So let me ask you, has this administration shown that they are good stewards of your athletic donations lately; enough that you'd give it more?

DING DING DING!!! it's all lip service bs to make things sound better!!! Not that other commits aren't good, or don't have potential, but we are all too familiar with this game.
Watch Taysir Mack and Isaiah Wright's tape please. Staff had both ranked higher than Harmon and after watching the tape you'll see why.

And. When Julie was ready to replace Flood with Dan Mullen she didn't have enough to pay for his staff. The fire Flood crowd had its chance, but came up short. So in steps Towers with the money to extend Flood. Like the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Again, not saying our current commits aren't good - THEY ARE - eh, forget it, believe what you want to believe it's all good.

Nuts - the mods here believe that the WR class we have is pretty much exactly what we wanted. And by that, I mean wright and mack are the real deal. Add in Bah as well. Srsly, no need to complain about something that isn't worthy of complaining! Just saying.

What we need most, by far, and never get (except once), is a top qb recruit.

Laviano was very highly rated by some services. Rettig was one of the top QB's in his class. Dare is no slouch.

Did you watch the Elite 11? Who made it? Anyone we might have heard of ????

Lets wait for the kid to put on a jersey first. Hell lets at least wait until NSD to see if its scarlet.

Assuming they stay committed...

And we're supposed to be cashing in on B1G membership... instead some conference mates see its open season here. We need to start recruiting in B1G states more.

I made this point about 6 months ago and got blasted for it. Stadium selling out? (nope) money flowing in to invest in athletics? (not yet and nope anyway) better tv coverage from BTN? (not that I can see) Recruits (yeah, just the opposite) Rutgers is benefiting from this in terms of non-athletics..unless you consider we get to keep whatever $ is raised from all the B1G Flags folks bought for their tailgates.

Maybe our new coach will revisit Harmon before NSD ;)

QB recruit...why...so they can wait until their senior year to have their footwork corrected when our staff couldn't figure out what the board could?

Flood loses recruits to Temple and Syracuse, meanwhile, Schiano beat B1G teams for players in the misfit toys conference....

You would have to be blind to not see the difference, some our fans clearly are willfully blind.

And how could anyone blame any 17 year old for not jumping into a dumpster fire that our admin is taking its time to put out....

Did they really get who they wanted or did they just get the kids that were willing to say yes?

Pretty ignorant post. Jabbie probably goes to CB, and Bah is a little bit of a project, but Mack and Wright are outstanding prospects, as good as any out there.

I like the WR commits that we got, but this is brutal. At one point I thought Harmon was going to be one of our first commits..... And he's gone

I don't know enough about the recruits to know who is going to be great and who isn't..but I do believe this when it comes to name recognition. One of these doesn't fit. You choose (and forgive the spelling):

Urban Myers
Jim Harbough
James Franklin
Mark Dantonio
Greg Schiano
Kyle Flood

It is better to get eliminated early than to be strung along till the end. I think CFB is a national sport now. This idea of kids staying in their own state is old school. With social media, these kids know a lot. They would go to China if colleges there had a football program.

Honestly what have the Mods beliefs gotten Rutgers on the field? The one time they ever made an outlandish prediction they claimed "the stars were aligning" and since then it has pretty much all come crashing down.

All they do is talk up guys with no stars and what offers might be comittable, or that Rutgers cools on a 3 star guy just before he commits to Michigan St...interesting.

The only time this program ever saw success was either with Greg schiano coaching up a bunch of nobodies in 2006, Flood giving away a conference championship in 2012 with what will most likely be the best defense Rutgers will EVER have in the history of the program (assembled by Schiano), and an 8 win season in the the first year of the Big Ten with a bunch of Schiano recruits whose names happened to have a ton of those little star things that don't matter next to them - and even then he mismanaged the biggest game of the year and got blown out in every other loss.

But hey - when you hire a guy for $750k whose peers make, at the most conservative comparison, at least $1.8M, what do you expect.

Who are the "bunch of Schiano recruits whose names happened to have a ton of little star things" who were on last season team? It seems to me there is this myth of a many highly rated Schiano recruits which I just don't see.

2011 and 2012 recruiting classes were the highest ranked Rutgers has had. Next question.

You want to attract top talent? You have to spend the $ and invest in your program. Donate above and beyond your ticket donation and gear purchases. It takes $ to get where you want to be. No other way around it.

Doesn't cost much! The AD simply needs to make the program more desirable for recruits and TV viewers by hiring Scott Frost. I guarantee you Wimbush would be here if we had Scott Frost. The man doesn't cost much. If Flood were to be fired, Rutgers would probably still make a dumb hire. We could have had Bobby Petrino here long before Louisville got to him, but Rutgers was too concern what the mean kids at The Star Liar would write about them.

Just because it was Rutger's highest ranked recruiting classes does not equate it to being a bunch of recruits with tons of stars. With Rutgers recruiting history having a class with primarily 3 stars recruits with a couple of 4 star recruits could easily put a class on top, a far cry from "tons of stars".

Most of, if not all, the starters on The 06 Rutgers team were underecruited.

Just so you guys know we weren't really recruiting that hard at the end. We already have 4 WR commits.

I am a big Flood supporter but I do admit something does drive me nuts. He always counts his scholarship limit way way too early and doesn't take into account attrition. I can probably name 5-10 different examples over the last 3 years were we had a shot at a decent kid but stopped recruiting him early because there wasn't a scholarship open at the time. And every time something happens where it turns out there were plenty open a short time later. Hell in year one right before everyone decommitted we had a 5.6 *** OL commit to us but Flood didn't take the scholarship. Fast forward 4 months later and we could have taken him 5 fold.

Come on man. If they are "as good as any out there", why aren't the big-name programs knocking on their door?
