I was told to expect a 2016 commitment very soon from a foreign prospect...it's a name that's been talked about before here.

And, Doorson was in streets today because he has a foot injury...expected to miss considerable time

Wow, that's a whole lot of news in just two sentences lol.

Awful to hear about Doorson. Hopefully Diallo can continue to grow in his role opposite Lewis.

Can we get any hints about the commit? Great to hear. Thanks BK.

Issa Thiam.

That's my guess. I like his game.Great defender, has great potential.

probably Issa Thiam

Can you pls describe his game?

TIA

And the doorson news sucks

Thanks BK for sharing

I wrote a post about him somewhere else, but Ill give you a quick observation.

Thiam is a 6 8 wing from senegal. Still fairly raw, but gets to the right spots on the floor and can get to the basket well. ON defense, he is a + player, and is aware on help defense and also keeps an eye on his man. He knows where rebounds come from, and gets to those spots. He is a smart kid. I believe with 20 pounds on his frame, he is a great pickup for Rutgers. That will be the third player from Africa on this roster with Diallo(senegal) and Doorson.I like the move.

I see him as a poor mans Ahmed Bashir. Or an ahmed Bashir as a freshman. I like the kids game and attitude.

Thanks higgins. Much appreciated!

The Doorson news does suck but now Diallo will have a huge opportunity.....and I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised with Diallo's play
I spoke to Shaq after practice and he said about a month.. its on side of foot.. I think he said fracture of navicular bone..he said (1) month and then it will be evaluated. Hopefully, he doesn't miss much time because we need him for depth as opposed to considering redshirting.

Anybody else see Alvydas when he first played an exhibition game at RU? I think he scored about 26 points, had a zillion rebounds, and I thought we had found the next Bill Walton. Didn't quite turn out that way. Saw him once a couple years after he graduated and chatted with him and he was a heck of a nice guy.

(And thank you, SirScarlet.)

great news with Thiam plays against some good guys in practice everyday and is developing. The guy seems to have huge upside

@higgins3 gets my vote to take over the Court Club when @BKIn118 's knees or memory start to give out. Same energy, same devotion, and I think higgins owns some black clothing. ;-)

I was at Tenys' first exhibition game and it rwas something. He did have some good momts but nothing again like that first one.

Haha, I've got about five shirts from Rutgers Basketball game. That would be something else. Hope all is well, Don. See you in a couple weeks at a game my friend.

I always thought he had a lot of potential, Bannon just got into his head. They seemed like oil and water. Tenys had some good games (notably against Nova for some reason) then he would disappear.

How is it possible to weigh 190 and be 6'8''

he does not eat an American diet and is from Africa

I see Thiam as more of a wing. Not because of his weight(which seems to be yes, because he is not eating american diet, american consumption), but because of how well he can run the floor, and has a bit of a working shot. Not a great shooter, but he is shooting okay right now. With 20 pounds, he will be a good contributor for RU.Seems like a good kid, too.

You mean, Eric, right? Wasn't Earl from Rahway and he played at Louisville?
Yes correct, when I was typing the name it didn't sound right but couldn't come up with Eric. Thanks

I'm pretty sure Eric Clark was larger than 200 pounds. Maybe I'm wrong though.
