The old Big East was a league for the ages. There will never be anything like it again. As someone who went to every Big East Tournament when we were in the league, it was a time that i will always cherish with great memories. Kudos to the current Big East and to Villanova for keeping the BET alive and well but in reality the league is now a shell of itself. If the Big East can sway UCOnn into its fold, it will make the BET that much more like old times. Anyways we re where we need to be. Now hopefully the new BIg 10 commish will have our tournament at Barclays every 3 -4 years. ACC does it and the arena had juice which it will also with the Big 10 given the alumni in the NYC area as we saw with MSG last year. The old Big East also had football schools which made it so enjoyable and successful.I miss the local rivalry games and seeing some of the top teams/players in the country playing at the RAC.I don't get the same feeling with the B1G teams.
