Nunzio checks in on the Idrizi flip.

Lol and just below that tweet.....today's sign that armagedon is upon us....an 8th grader announcing his commitment to high school and retweeted by the coach....waiting for the flip move from DBP, SJR, or PC. Wonder where his mom took after his OV? Burger king or McDonalds?

Waiting for announcements to go to kindergarten next....

After considerable thought ..and of course prayer, we will be sending little johnny to XYZ Kindergarten on a full scholarship to play kick ball, and "7-up", he intends to major in finger painting.

If someone did the same to BC Nunzio would be pissed. The fact that he feels the need to tweet shows that he knows it was a stupid thing for the kid to do.

FWIW: Nunzio has likely lost a place for some of his possibly talented but under-recruited kids to land. Building relationships is a two way street.

One thing is for sure. You can forget Coach Ash doing you any favors for marginal BC talent moving forward.

BCU just did RU a favor.
Yeah you have to figure RU decided to throw them a bone here in the hopes they'd get some help in the future. Our Goombah Nunzio should be explainin to his TE that he f-ed up in private.

It is getting ridiculous. My son and his buddies in 6th grade are very good group of football players in a league with unlimited weight and no position restrictions. Lots of big kids and lots of speedy athletic skill players, but I assure you I will discourage any of them from going to Bergen Catholic. That place has no interest in building a mutually beneficial relationship after this stunt. Sometimes you gotta cut em off not because you don't care but because they don't.

Although it is ridiculous for a kid to flip in such a short amount of time, eh who cares? Good luck to him. I have a feeling Catholic School was very important to him and his family. His parents probably had the strongest influence on his decision as parents do for most 17 year old kids.

It is silly for him to say so many good things about Ash and the direction of the program all to abandon it 5 days later. Those of you tweeting at the kid and losing sleep over this need to get a life.

Deus vult? Deus vult!? I thought we were talking about football here. And who, exactly, is presuming to speak for Deus about this situation?

Don't hold this against St Peters Prep. Hansen is a tough guy who put Prep on the map as a defensive coordinator. Guy goes with the flow. Takes no crap, kisses no ass and let's his kids go where they want. Hansen is a NJ State College grad.

Makes you kinda understand programs pulling 'ships. Two way street if this is how it plays out. Wouldnt ignore BC if they have someone who can help the program but I wouldn't trust their word either. The kid will enjoy mediocre football in front of 20k and lots of shitty Boston accents.

The main reason I don't get all that hung up on recruiting is it's a filthy business. Basketball may be worse but football is catching up. Whether or not the coaching family connections had anything to do with the decision it's just typical of the way things operate behind the scenes.

"Deus vult" is a BC thing....it was a rallying cry for crusaders (I always learned it was deus le vult) and that is their mascot. I guess it's the parochial version of upstream red team.

Not just Ash. These guys are not thinking. They are burning bridges with coaches that have pretty good pedigrees. Camp better hope Addazio wins this coming year. If he doesn't and gets fired, Camp can cross out Houston (Herman) and OSU (Meyer) as possible landing spots.

Agree. -What goes around comes around, and if BC had any hopes of RU possibly extending a schollie to any of their borderline talent in the future those went out the window today.

Ash & Co. won't forget this and they won't be put in this situation again. -Won't surprise me if as a result of this, any marginal BC players who'd like to be part of the Rutgers program will have to do it via the walk-on route.. The RU staff isn't going to waste another offer of a full ride on any of them.

I see Bergen Catholic has two other marginal players that have Rutgers as their school on 247 even though they don't have a Rutgers offer same as the decommit before we offered. I guess if they want D1, they can walk on.

As a BC alum, and legacy, I can tell you with 100% certainty that most marginal kids from Bergen don't give a rat's ass about Rutgers. It's just the way the culture is there. RUugers is an afterthought for 98% of those kids, which is obviously stupid. I'm not losing sleep over this. Honestly, most kids from that school are aholes.

Nunzio is a joke. He's just trying to save face after many called him out on twitter. Don't buy his BS.

His tweet is really defensive. Looks like he didn't expect the reaction and is trying to spin himself out of it. Perhaps he had an "oh shit" moment and realized that he just screwed his future players out of a possible local destination?

I've no doubt at all that you're correct. -But it'll now work more definitively in both directions. After what happened with this kid, if RU is an afterthought to marginal kids from BC, borderline kids from BC just became nonentities to Rutgers.
