I'll start. I'll take Frank Cignetti. So so year with Pitt but runs balanced offense that eats clock and puts points on the board. See 2011. The only time Schiano had an experienced OC, let him run the offense and they worked well together. Our defense is good but overexposed. We need someone who doesn't run the rhumba offense. ( 1-2-3 kick).

Light on experience.
Can we get a G5 OC?
Or FCS OC / Coach with proven track record of doing more with less
Willie Taggart checks a lot of boxes.
Played Quarterback at Western Kentucky.
Coached QBs at Western Kentucky, a prolific QB school.
13 years of head coaching experience, three at P5- good candidate for associate head coach
Florida ties, good for recruiting.
Worked with Mario Cristobal, for whatever that is worth, but Mario can give stamp of approval or disapproval.
Good rehab assignment for Willie Taggart- P5 opportunity-what does he have to lose by saying yes?
Runs what is called a "Gulf Coast Offense."

"The Gulf Coast Offense (GCO) combines the idea of traditional power-I blocking and running with the athletes and routes of a spread offense, generally using a Read/Pass Option (or RPO) to attack the match-up that the offensive coordinator feels like he can win.

GCO is centered around an athletic QB and his ability to properly read a defense and decipher the match-up that favors them. The running back has to be able to hit the holes and cut to the open space, while also catching passes out of the backfield and finding green grass. The receivers need to be able to block downfield and have a set of reliable hands."

Why does every list for any staff position have to start with “worked with Schiano, from NJ or passed through NJ on a road trip”?

Casey Woods SMU's OC is someone that needs to be looked at.
He has midwest ties from his time at Missouri, was tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator for 2 years before going to SMU in 2021
Has roots in the south working 3 years at UAB as tight ends coach, run game coordinator and recruiting coordinator when that program was coming back from the dead and became successful doing so.
Also was at Auburn (Director of Player Development (2013-15) and three seasons as offensive quality control ), and the 2012 season at Arkansas State.as their wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator.
He just might help recruit better talent from the midwest and south.
SMU had a great offense (#12 total offense & #3 passing) under his direction this season, but one year on the job is a drawback.
A great plan B candidate, if everyone on the A list is out of reach

Another name. Philip Montgomery was fired at Tulsa today. He was the OC at Baylor with Briles and he’s had some mixed results at Tulsa as HC.

Either/or. I like that KORN has QB background
KORN's first album was killer too!

As for Willy, found this from Wikipedia:

"After seeing some playing time in the garbage time of games his freshman year, he suffered injuries in back to back games, earning a medical redshirt for the season.[2] He received his first start as a redshirt freshman in 2008 in Dabo Swinney's first game as interim head coach against Georgia Tech, but suffered a shoulder injury 14 plays into the game.[3] Unable to win the starting quarterback job from Kyle Parker after his injury, Korn transferred to Marshall after the 2009 season. He spent very little time at Marshall after the coaching staff told him his throwing arm wasn't strong enough and asked him to convert to safety, transferring once again to Division II North Greenville to play quarterback"

And this:

"Upon graduating and following an injury-plagued career with the Tigers, Korn transferred to North Greenville University. He started at quarterback in his junior and senior seasons at North Greenville, earning All-American honors after leading NGU to an 11-3 season and the NCAA Division II quarterfinals in 2011. Korn finished his career at NGU with an 18-4 record and threw for 4,058 yards and 45 touchdowns in two seasons. He also ran 212 times for 944 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Korn led national-power Byrnes High School to two 4A state championships and set numerous state records along the way over his high school career. He finished his high school career with 10,125 passing yards and 125 touchdowns which earned him such accolades as Parade All-American, U.S. Army All-American Bowl participant, Elite 11 QB Camp invitee, and South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year twice (2005 and 2006). In 2013, he was named among the top 150 all-time South Carolina high school football players by The State newspaper."

Side note- Chas Dodd, who is on RU staff as strength and conditioning coach, was the Byrnes HS QB 2007-09.

Kyle Flood.
Surprised it took this long for his name to come up hahah. On paper he looks as good as anyone
-From NY, lived in NJ, recruited both NY and NJ
-Strong ties to Schiano
-College head coach experience
-NFL coaching experience
-Coached a bunch of o-linemen into the NFL and added a bunch more under his watch
-Coached at Alabama (also, wasn’t he recruiter of the year or something?)
-Current OC at Texas

Couldn't agree more with this. I haven't seen a cohesive game plan on the offensive side of the ball since Kill was the OC. You may not have liked his style but he had a plan.
Jerry Kill is head coach at New Mexico state. First year, he took a 2-10 team to 5-6, and they thrashed Liberty 49-14.
