QB is important but watching Michigan's OL dominate OSU and giving the QB time. The the relievers on both sides making great catches. RU, as everyone can see, is sorely lacking in those areas.

Not bad. I think the WRs would have done better if they had more time to gain separation, but most are graduating do it:s a moot point.

Next year is when the bumper crop of '22 OL need to start contributing. That's key

Our receiving core is going to be God awful next year unless we get some impact transfers.

Lol our two 3 guys this seasons were:

1. KO Returner that wanted to play WR so transferred to RU
2. #3 option at bad Big 12 school
3. KO Returner that wanted to play WR so transferred to RU

I think it’s time we focus on actually bringing in WRs

I thought that at least at the beginning of the season they tried to get the ball to Cruickshank and Youngblood in space. Not sure why that stopped.
Also, there was a 4-star wr that was coming here in the 2022 class....Brown from Florida. I think grades got in the way though.
IMO it's questionable whether anyone that played today on offense for Rutgers would make the two-deep at any other Big Ten school.

We missed Bo Melton terribly this year.

Yeah we tried and it failed because they weren’t good.

And Bo wasn’t very good either.

I'm watching Purdue right now and see their receivers and backs execute plays at a respectable level. None of them are 4 star recruits but they get open and catch routine plays. Their QB isn't a blue chipper either and yet he can at least operate an average power 5 offense and lead a team to a bowl game.

Our recruiting isn't any worse than theirs and yet our offense executes like a middle school team.

Nonsense. Excellent college player and scarlet knight.
Nonsense? His most productive season was his true senior year in 2020 for 638 yards. That’s not that good dude. That’s like a #3 guy on most teams.

We have zero coming next year in either position

Bo was good. Do you remember Northwestern game? Bo wide open and Vedral threw a duck and Bo caught it but defensive back tackled him. Horrible throw., should have been 65 yard td.

May be the first time ever "bumper crop" was used to describe RU recruiting.

Jeff and Brian Brohm as HC and OC will do that. We have Greg and whomever he exhausts at OC, so you get what we have, which is crap.

The coaching staff and the talent on the team both need a major upgrade .The offense has to be one of the worse in all of college football. The defense plays hard but wears out because the offense can't make first downs .The defensive line is undersized and gets man handled at the line of scrimmage. The search for a difference maker at quarterback remains..Wimsatt might have a strong arm but he has failed to show leadership on the field .All aspects of the offense get failing grades.Recruiting is in a downward spiral which means next season might be a repeat of this years futility against BigTen rivals.Schiano is finding out that the competition in the Big Ten is far superior to Big East teams. There is no quick fix for a bottom tier football program.

Most teams have a #3 WR that ends up on an NFL practice squad?
I mean he’s fast, for sure. But he was not a #1 WR by any means and practice squad is cool I guess, but making a roster is cooler.

I’m not trying to hate on the guy, but simply saying he wasn’t that good. Severely overrated. We haven’t had a good WR here since Carroo.

To be fair, Purdue beat Indiana today. Same team we beat. Shocker was really Iowa losing to Neb.

Again, how many college wide receivers who are not that good and severely overrated make an NFL roster? Even "just" the practice squad? Perhaps your view is not widely shared.

Receivers are not utilized very well, schematically, especially today. NO over the middle short routes, always going for poorly thrown fades. Not very effective.

All I said is he wasn’t a legit #1 IMO.

His most productive season was 638 yards over 5 seasons. I’m sorry, but that’s not good.

He’s got speed that most people don’t have so he will always get an opportunity, because the hope is they can coach him to be a better receiver.

Check back on this topic in 2-3 years.

The offense needs a game plan that works. So far have not seen a remotely competent game plan.

Bo was good. Had lousy quarterbacks.

BINGO!!

Nah. Pacheco’s stats weren’t that great at RU (they didn’t jump off the page). He dealt with an absolutely brutal OL, but it was clear he was an NFL guy and he’s proving it this season.
