- Villanova; Notre Dame and Syracuse.

I don't think any make it to the Final 4 however.....
 
While we constantly (and properly) discuss what a strong conference we are in for basketball, the old Big East, particularly toward its end, was decidedly stronger.
The old BE (pre last defections) was best ever. The new ACC may be better. But let's see someone get three ff teams, or get 60% of its teams in FF in a decade.
 
Anyone catch Francesca say Tranghese was one of the most brilliant people in all of sports?
 
Old Big East could potentially have three of the Final 4, Nova, Cuse, and ND.
 
If Irish win, it would be a huge upset - and the BE would have made history once again (3 final 4 teams just like 1985)
 
The irony in joining the B1G is that in hoops we were actually joining an easier conference.
