Both Rutgers commits might be on the verge of facing each other in the finals at 160.
I saw Kannaird wrestled at 170 for the mustang classic. If they are going different weights we could have two state champs commits.

What weight will O'Neil be expected to wrestle for us? He could get even bigger by the time he arrives on campus.Kannaird could be at 165 without redshirting and ending up at 174 the year after.

Not to be a downer but we’ve had quite a few state champs not pan out, even guys that won multiple. Just sayin’

Kanniard is the real deal and will not be one of those guys.

Most of those state champions probably were not highly nationally ranked or faced elite competition prior going college.. Biggest indicator of recruit talent is their overall class ranking.. for example, jojo ,whom hasnt even won states yet somehow.. but has beaten many highly nationally ranked talent

When are Kanniard and O'Neill on the verge of meeting each other? Do they have a dual meet soon ? That would be fun to watch, although usually one coach moves the other wrestler up or down for strategic purposes.

PS- they are in different graduating classes, so a good chance by the time winter 2020/21 comes around , one or both will have grown into different weight classes.

Posted in another thread but our 2016 class had 5 guys ranked in the top 70 overall of the class. None really planned out.

Continue to recruit the best guys developing them into college level wrestlers to compete at the highest levels. Our program also needs to take ownership - what are the other teams doing like Missouri with their in-state recruits.Making them All-Americans without been the top recruits.Let's continue to learn from other top tier teams in areas of motivation, training, technique etc.

Paetzel and Mackal can still be serviceable but they transferred out bc Suriano transferrred in.... TBH I think Mackal has higher upside then Aguilar but hope I’m wrong... Mulligan idk what happened...
Grello/Correnti are still on paths to be qualifier types of guys with a chance to AA their final year..
But yeah.. expected a lot more from this class...

Too bad bc Mackall could have been a big contributor here.
