Organized, prepared

And play with great emotion.
I don't know about the rest of you but that's all I've ever asked for.
The last four years I've felt that way a hand full of times...that is all!
Endorse above comment enthusiastically.

Agreed - this is similar to what I told my dad, who was "meh" on this hire. I feel like Ash intuitively understands Schiano's "ground up" philosophy on a whole different level: If the on-field product is energized and exciting, then the atmosphere around the program in turn becomes more energized and exciting. Kids will gravitate to that, they'll want to play here. That's when the wins will come.

I was impressed. Excited for the future. Most since a ball was going to be a TD in the end zone against WVU.

Our hoops coach should take this advice.

I do not excite easily, but this new coach has me excited about the future. This is how I felt about Schiano, but none other. This coach may do a whole lot better in the end. We do not know how Schiano would have fared with the Big Ten to sell, but he was stuck in the Big East and AAC.

Me too. I thought that #83 makes that catch and we are BCS bound.

I want a coach with some heat and urgency. A guy who will scream a little if he's not liking what he sees. For God's sake I remember playing soccer as a kid--elementary school and not even middle school--and the coaches would yell at us that we were "pussy footing." This is big time football not an intramural flag football league.

Just watched the presser on Rvision. I was impressed with Ash, and I was impressed with Hobbs as well.

Yes..........want to see them keep fighting even when they are behind and the game out of reach. Keep playing with focus and passion.

The little things do add up to a lot. One of the things Schiano did when he got to Rutgers caught my eye as a function of playing hard every snap and discipline. On kickoff, the entire team had to continue to the end zone on touchbacks. No stopping in between. It was full speed all of the time. That practice disappeared under Flood. At that time I began to question some aspects of the discipline that needed to go with the work ethic. Hoping to see something like that under Ash.

i agree with the original premise but let's not forget that the less talented team often looks unorganized disinterested etc. we had some large comeback wins. I actually thought that was a Flood strength. At the end of the day we can talk all we want about the little things and they are important but Ash will succeed or fail based on recruiting and keeping the top NJ kids home.

It was more than a handful of times Zap but agree it was not nearly enough. What gets me is how good we could look at times and how bad at other times. I think depth (which took a shot before and during the season) and Carroo were the two reasons for that this season. But it was a problem last season as well. We got spanked by some great teams and then made UNC look bad. He beats Arkansas twice, once on the road. I am really puzzled but my opinion is he was a tireless worker. The kids loved him. He had a good game plan going into many of his games. But we were overmatched in the BIG (especially our schedule) and the weekly grind, injuries, etc. I'm not saying Flood was the right guy for this job but he did all that he could IMO. Who knows if he ever would have gotten it done in this conference but I back the decision 100%. The timing was right.

I fully hope that Ash injects fire and passion like Harbaugh did this season. I like that we want to be a Defensive team because a great D can keep us close with anyone. The the O just needs to score enough to win. He has proven he can win at a high level and stop great teams from scoring. Game on.

Schiano was right when he said it is all about the process. There are three other coaches I've read articles on who've say the same thing: Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Bill Belechick. 'Nuf said.
