RU up 7 spots to 43rd globally from 50th last year. Doing some quick math that puts RU 27th in the US, 13th among schools that play major college sports in the US, and 5th in the B1G behind Michigan, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Illinois.

Good accolades academically that should continue to climb the longer RU is in the B1G!!

Did they take into account our latest recruiting class ranking?

I work international and I can say that this weights greatly when considering employment by companies. It is unfortunate but becoming a common practice that sources like USN&WR are no longer even considered as a source. The US publications are no longer considered reliable or subjective.

This ranking is a more broad measure of research, faculty, graduate studies, etc. USNWR is mainly focused on undergrad education where we suffer because of things like class size.

All one needs to do is look at the rankings of our grad programs, especially in the social sciences and humanities, to see how great a school we are one a purely academic level.

I hope that our Honors College becomes a big draw for NJ's top students.

I think one thing that Barchi is focusing his attention on is making RU more attractive to out of state students. Right now RU is around 90 percent in state. I would like to see those numbers go down to around 75 percent in state, while attracting top grade talent out of state from PA, NY, New England, Midwestern States, etc.

Rutgers was 5th in the Big Ten..ahead of Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue, Maryland, Mich State and Penn State...
