OT: 2022 #13 recruit Scoot Henderson signs with G-League Ignite for $1mil

Hasn't happened and Rutgers is not that type of program.

What types of programs recruit 1 and dones? You mean like Kentucky or Duke? What about Stanford and Vanderbilt who both have had multiple 1 and done recruits the last few years? Or UCLA and Gonzaga? Or Texas and Cal and Washington? Or any other number of schools.

Top coaches that are aggressive adapters of the one and done strategy, as well as some other schools/coaches that top talent gravitates to.

I think for the health of college sports the G League is great. Better to have the one and done go to a team, get paid and spend as much time developing his game for his future career. The college game is better in my opinion when a player stays at last 3 years so we can get to know them and watch them develop. One and done players cheapen the college game, my favorite moment was seeing the guys that I got to know over 3/4 years in their graduation pictures.

Like Rutgers?

Or are you saying Coach Pike gave a fake offer to the #1 recruit in the nation?
Is this how the conversation would go:
"Sorry Chet. I know you are the #1 recruit in the country and I gave you an offer but you can't come to Rutgers unless you agree to stay for 3 years."

Just because Rutgers hasn't had a 1-and-done (yet) doesn't mean Rutgers isn't trying.

Never said Coach Pike isn't trying. Try learning how to read. One and Dones are not interested in Rutgers to date. Plain and simple. Rutgers didn't even make Holmgren's Top 7 regardless of his visit. He was never coming here no matter how much you wished.

Amen and Ausar Thompson, a.k.a. The Thompson Twins, have signed with Overtime's Elite League. Two four-star prospects who I expected to get a bump in the next Rivals150 update for the 2022 class. Although, with them going pro now, I don't know how we'll handle their ranking.

Russ, are you familiar with the new Gators assistant. Do you think he will help keep in state kids ?

Yes, I know Coach Pastrana. When he called me last month to say he was coming to Florida to "visit family for a week," I said "Yeah, fly to Gainesville and interview with Mike White while a family member drives to Gainesville to pick you up and drive you to South Florida."

He's a 305 guy and a good person. For years, AAU and HS Coaches and I have said that one of the "Big 3" schools in Florida needs to hire Erik Pastrana so they can keep more FL kids home. Mike White made an excellent hire. Now he needs to do it a second time to fill his other staff opening.

Good to hear. Hope that UF is 100 percent at football and basketball games later this year. Nephew was only able to see two football games and three basketball games with the limited student capacity. Hope all is well with you and your family during corona. Go Gators !

2023 draft update:
Scoot goes #3 overall
Thompson twins go #4 and #5 overall

Using the weird "Lively and Whitehead falling from #1 and #2 rankings to being only drafted #12 and #22 was a huge failure by Duke" argument some are making - I guess that means G-League Ignite and Overtime Elite are the best talent developers and should get all the elite recruits.
Ace and Dylan should probably go their to ensure they don't drop outside the Top 5 for the 2025 NBA draft?

Scoot went from #11 ranking in 2021 to the #3 draft pick.
Thompson twins went from approx #40 ranking to Top 5 picks.

Also - was quite amusing rereading all the "Rutgers isn't the type of program to get or recruit 1 and done players. College basketball would be better without players renting a jersey for 5 months. They should just go pro and skip college altogether" posts considering Rutgers is now exactly that type of program.

By my count it was one single poster in this thread and it was you who brought it up first ....seemingly to throw out there as bait to see who would bite.
