It was ugly, but most people are giving Glenn some benefit of the doubt because the Lions defensive unit was so decimated by injuries.
With Glenn or any of the defensive coaches mentioned, there is only going to be a chance for success if they get the right OC along with them.
I don’t think 1 game is going to change anything for Glenn. He’ll probably land a HC position. A matter of where, obviously his prior association with the Jets is playing a role in the speculation.

This is likely to be a big week in the New York Jets' search for anew coach.
Things pointing to Aaron Glenn. I liked him as a player. His defense just got shredded on national tv in the playoffs for all to see.
I actually think Saleh was considered a better DC when the Jets hired him, compared to Glenn is now.

Speculation that Glenn could be hired by Jets as soon as today. I would be fine with that, he will need to hire a good OC and it would be nice if WJ would hire a GM who is on the same page as the HC. I like the fact that Glenn is a former Jet/player. He may not put the players on a pedestal and insist on accountability.
As a nearly seven decades Jet fan I'm good with the Glenn hire.......just as long as he's learned how to defend the fake spike.

EVERY NFL head coach in history was a rookie NFL head coach once. Some succeed immediately. Some need more time. Some never do.
No one can say how well Glenn would do. But to assume that he will fail just because he is a rookie, is just silly.
Besides, do you know of any "sure thing" choices who are available to the Jets? I do not.
Why would it be a huge mistake? Who should they hire? . Because he is a defensive coach doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be a good HC. As a former player, he won’t put the players on a pedestal. The team needs discipline and needs to be motivated. Woody does need to sell the team. The reason is he doesn’t understand football and thinks he does. He is too intrusive and overactive. He is too concerned about the commercial aspects of owning a football team.
SNY reporting that Jets are "very close" to naming Aaron Glenn HC of NYJ, and Lance Newmark GM of NYJ. Reportedly Jets have informed other candidates that they are going in a different direction.

If the GM isn't one that as a connection there might be a slight power struggle of who is the one in control
of the draft and players on the roster.
Johnson might want to hire a GM he gets along with more than one that Glenn feels comfortable with and
the loser will be Jet fans that hoped for a winning combination of a HC,GM and Owner working together to build a winner ,, but only see the HC and GM have different ideas on how to build a winner and the owner being a liability instead of having helped by hiring people that had the same vision on how to build a winner.
