I'd imagine the B1G champion would finish Top 4 or just outside of it. Biggest issue for us is logistically hosting a First Round NCAA playoff game with commencement on Sunday of that weekend. Hobbs proactively I bet reached out to the NCAA and petitioned to have a Friday night First Round game or Saturday noon at the absolute latest, which the grounds crew would immediately go into overdrive to get the Stadium ready for Graduation.Finish top-8 must be the goal. In that case we get to host an NCAA game here. Top-4, we would get to host 2. Obviously, that should in theory fit under the larger goal which is win the B1G .. if we do that, the rest should take care of itself. Will be tough, but must show up for EVERY game from here to the finish.

May is about as nice a weather month as you can get too. Minus rain/t-storms, a First Round NCAA game at noon would draw at least 5 figures, especially if we get someone like a Cuse or a rematch with Princeton. Noon start...game is about 2 hours if it doesn't go into OT or have a weather delay. So by 2:30 pm the stadium would be empty...allowing the Grounds crew to haul ass to get the Stadium set up for Graduation.Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't a Noon Saturday game on graduation weekend have the potential to draw a pretty decent crowd?
Every conference game played across the league is going to be an absolute battle.
One at at time, starting with Hopkins. They beat a Uva team in dramatic fashion this weekend, which was probably a good tune up for us. Uva plays fast too. Their D is suspect though. Very suspect. If we play like we have been outside of Delaware, it will be a much different game than they played against Uva. They aren't putting up 18 goals on us.
Hopefully the D gets tighter again, flowing around like an amoeba, while the offense finishes shots better.
Hopkins more often than not this season has had suspect goalie play. Getting a few early will go a long way to get our confidence back and chip away at their goalie.
Their schedule is a flipping joke. OSU will expose them on Saturday...mark my words.Figured PSU would be #1 after we lost. I guess they have a weak schedule or something?
NCAA releases their first RPI rankings. RU @ #6. All B1G teams ranked in the top 15 with 5 in the top 10.
Our conference is a monster and our at large chances are very strong.
Officially the best conference now.

They need to expand the field to 24 or at least to 20. Too many good teams get screwed out of the dance at the field it is now.Beware of the #5 team in the B1G getting left home in the tourney.

I do think they will expand to 20 in a few years at least. Have a play in round a few days before the true First Round.IMHO the problem is that not all the conference winner automatic bids go to teams that belong. And they'll never change that because they want to expand the sport. A 16 team field with no automatic bids is really all you need at this point, though it could change in the future.
Delaware' s goalie was all world. His 6'6" frame and stance left very little space to score. We wasted the 1st half trying to get over or around him when the place to put it was low either direct or a bounce. First time I' ve seen us in person. Our goalie is too short and only average reflects
Thats good to hear,,,,,,Indeed, his outlets are very good. Fits in perfectly with our philosophy.
They shut Jules off. It was like a box and one in hoops. Very unusual in lacrosse. We didn't handle it well in the first quarter especially. In Delaware's defense, they executed well.
I doubt most teams practice against that too much. You simply don't see it often. While it might throw the offense off, the D still has to learn to play with 5 guys, which makes slides much different than when you are playing 6 on 6. You can see Delaware practices it a lot. I am sure they will use it again, but it's on tape now. Other teams have seen it and will be prepared.
I doubt we see that again and when we do, we will be ready for it.
Big one tomorrow!
