Need last second help with a gift for a guy who's turning 50. $100-$150 range. I would need to be able to go to a store a pick it up, as it is need for tonight. Importantly, this is a guy who can afford anything .... just saying. Has anyone here received a special gift worth mentioning?

A donation to a worthy charity.

Is he a Rutgers football or NFL fan of a team? Does he have a favorite hobby or passion?

When buying a gift for someone who has everything it's best to be less concerned about cost and more about personal touch. Something that he would enjoy but doesn't think about doing on his own. For example, a college sweatshirt or updated framed pic on his college campus, a gift certificate to somewhere he might have gone frequently before he could afford anything he wanted, it's less about cost and more about personalization

Much depends on how much he means to you. That's the criteria I would use on a gift.

Your a month late with my gift now you have to double it being that I'm now 50. I told my wife I wanted a party as I'm only 50 once in all truthfulness I was only 47 48 and 49 once as well so stupid claim...but I did get my party

Hope others find this info useful. Looking into Scotch or Google Home. I'm pressed for time, and these are easily obtainable.

If he's a Rutgers fan, get a framed picture of our stadium and sign it "Happy 50th, Thanks for your support, Chris Ash"

I would like you as a friend. Never heard of buying a birthday gift for a friend, nor have I received one, other than buying drinks at a bar or something like that.

RU beating PSU. That gift is priceless. Something he CANNOT buy legally.

The guy's throwing himself a very nice birthday party....not showing up empty handed.

could get him tickets to a show or sporting event on Stub Hub or something similar - would remember who got him there. If not, good bottle of Bourbon or Scotch would do it for me.

I don't always buy birthday presents for other grown men, but when I do, I ask strangers on a football message board what I should buy, 30 hours before a game they've been waiting for all year.

Duct tape his eyes, mouth and hands, throw him in the truck and drop him off in the desert with exactly 1 16.9 Oz bottle of water. And I mean 50 miles out past the center of f-in nowhere.

Assuming he makes it back, he'll never experience a better moment than that very first moment of salvation. Now that's a gift he won't buy himself.

Also, let us know when you do it and where the man who has everything keeps everything.

Just a little healthy banter!

A bottle of champagne but engrave the bottle with his name, date, '50th' and 'love' your name. You can buy an engraver and do it yourself. A messy engraving adds to the meaning of the gift.
