Disagree. Pike wanted to get Harper rest. Acuff and Ogobole are nos. So just Martini was the other option.thats just a poor lineup and cannot happen in a tenuous 7 point lead yet riding momentum where you have your opponent on the ropes

Harper can get rest when the lead is in double digitsDisagree. Pike wanted to get Harper rest. Acuff and Ogobole are nos. So just Martini was the other option.
Shocking that Pike would go to an all defensive lineup. Shocking I tell yawe had a lineup when Dylan went for his last rest
jwill jmike dercack hayes sommerville
Had 4 guys on the court that cant shoot
pike distributed minutes mostly based on D in the 2nd half
I was there and am in row 2, so I have a pretty good view. There were some bad/missed calls both ways - they certainly were very aggressive and the 23-11 spread reflected that. You weren’t at the game. Total fouls were irrelevant as they almost decapitated Dylan about 3 times and fouled our guys almost every trip. We hardly touched them and they got bailed out 3-4 times. The refs you suck chant broke out not once , not twice , not three times but 4 times. Out of bounds calls , missing walks , phantom calls. That is what happens when you watch from home and are not in the arena where you get to see the full picture.
I’ll be curious to see if he can do that against B1G teams. He’s very smoothWatching DH take it to the rim at ease, made me want to just get him the ball in the second half and let him drive & score at will.
We lost the SJ exhibition because Harper was tired.Harper can get rest when the lead is in double digits
Exactly. The wrong guys are taking too many threes. I’d like to see Hayes play more. He has the best 3 point shot on the team. His D is not as good as Derkak, but better than I expected, Plus, he was a beast on the boards tonight with 7 RBs in only 20 min. The opposing D has to respect his 3-point shot so he opens up the floor for the other guards and the post.
This 100%!Exactly.
I love Derkack, JMike and JWill. But NONE of them should be attempting 3's. Ever. Not even sure I want them attempting 2's.
Leave the scoring to Dylan, Ace, PJ and Zack (for 3's) and Sommerville (inside).
Agreed... many missed calls both waysI dont think it was well officiated at all. Many missed calls.
Agree on the treys, but assume you realize that them not attempting twos would be foolish.Exactly.

Of course ... just exaggerating to emphasize my point (as I tend to do).Agree on the treys, but assume you realize that them not attempting twos would be foolish.
And Dylan did pick up his pivot foot.Uhhh, total fouls were 23-11 in our favor. Perhaps you're overstating your case.
It actually weakens your point.Of course ... just exaggerating to emphasize my point (as I tend to do).
It wasn't so much the fouls that were called.Uhhh, total fouls were 23-11 in our favor. Perhaps you're overstating your case.
Just an fyi.. St. P's had committed 57 fouls in its first 2 games. So they were 5.5 under their average lol.Uhhh, total fouls were 23-11 in our favor. Perhaps you're overstating your case.
Man -- alot of those were REALLY important buckets in moments where we were reeling. LOVE IT!NBA GMs will be here all season.
Hayes is the guy but your coach doesn’t run an offense yo get him shots. If he played in an offense like Iowa or Purdue, he would be way more successful. His shot is pure. This is the biggest issue again. Another season without a high volume 3 point shooter. Maybe Hayes is that guy but he’ll get his minutes cut when ace is back. I’d kill for a few guys who can shoot it from outside
Interesting. Helps confirm my suspicion that committing so many fouls was no accident. I suspect being extremely physical is a strategic decision by their coach. Willing to give up free throws in exchange for making opponents wary about going inside perhaps?Just an fyi.. St. P's had committed 57 fouls in its first 2 games. He’s not. St. Peter’s hacking every play.Uhhh, total fouls were 23-11 in our favor. Perhaps you're overstating your case.
JWill +17 can’t be ignored. We played very well with him in the gameThrough 2 games although early I think I am safely ready to say I would rather see more of Dercack and Hayes on the court than Jwill when it comes to weaving in Ace minutes
What Jwill “strengths” are are 1000x bigger strengths of ace and Dylan aka needs the ball in his hands to be productive and I don’t think he brings enough else to the table that Dercack and Hayes add.
JWill +17 can’t be ignored. We played very well with him in the game
Plus I think he was the only one on either team that was aware that it was a 1 and 1 and not a 2 shot foul.Credit to him he's playing HARD on defense. Also got to love his four assists, two steals, and two offensive boards. That's winning basketball even when you go 2-8.
Yes!! That was a heady smart brilliant play.Plus I think he was the only one on either team that was aware that it was a 1 and 1 and not a 2 shot foul.
How about the phantom fouls on Somerville and the missed out of bounds calls at least 3-4 and their missed walks and the fouls they missed when they bumped us, or the foul on JMike when the screener hip checked JMike into the dribbler. There were at least 10 if not more calls that never shifted momentum away fromSt. Peter’s that affected how close game was. However, it doesn’t take away how well St. Peter’s played and shot in a very clean game of few turnovers til lateI was there and am in row 2, so I have a pretty good view. We did not get the timeout as the refs called jumpball. Giving us possession when it would have been a shot clock violation.Yes!! That was a heady smart brilliant play.
On an opposite note thought no need for RU to call, burn a time out with loose ball on floor when there would have been a shot clock violation.
I really wasn’t entirely sure what happened there. I guess in the heat of the moment can’t find any fault but a heads up play would have been to just allow the shot clock violation. We did not get the timeout as the refs called jumpball. Giving us possession when it would have been a shot clock violation.
Yes, he did - that was 15' from our seats and was obvious. And Dylan did pick up his pivot foot.
Have to also factor in that he's playing through a shoulder injury and isn't completely healthyJWill +17 can’t be ignored. We played very well with him in the game
It was a held ball called before the shot clock expired, so right call on that one.We did not get the timeout as the refs called jumpball. Giving us possession when it would have been a shot clock violation.
Not arguing it wasn’t the right call. Might have been better not fighting so hard for possession and/or timeout as shot clock would have expired. Difficult in the heat of the moment decision of course but something to think about. Deflection would have worked just as well.It was a held ball called before the shot clock expired, so right call on that one.
Seems like only Dylan can stop Dylan. He has an incredible knack for finishing at the rim, even when help defense comes over. He is so adept at using either hand and finding the opening he needs to complete the play.I’ll be curious to see if he can do that against B1G teams. He’s very smooth
He hasn't faced quality shot blocking centers on teams with coaches that are able to game plan and have the tools to stop dribble penetration. Even Harper is going to have at times kick it out and hope others make shots.Seems like only Dylan can stop Dylan. Dylan is in a class by himself. Cliff was a great shot-blocking center for us (one of the best in the country), and I bet Dylan would find a way to complete the play on Cliff. We’ll find out soon enough…He hasn't faced quality shot blocking centers on teams with coaches that are able to game plan and have the tools to stop dribble penetration. Yes . They got 1 call right. Stop dying on this hill. Everyone in the arena saw how bad the refs were tonight and it wasn’t both ways . If was almost all in favor of St. Peter’s and almost always against Rutgers. I hardly ever in my history of posting discuss the refs when usually there are tons of things to point out why a team won or lost. Last night was blatantly one sided bad.It was a held ball called before the shot clock expired, so right call on that one.
