OT- basketball lands #81 player in nation

Very nice, but if I've learned anything as a Rutgers fan it's that one should wait until they sign on the dotted line before popping open the champagne.

Actually I've learned to wait until a few games in to see if they're as good as the hype.

I've been telling the posters over on the hoops boards for a few weeks-I FULLY EXPECTED A 4-STAR (TOP 100) RECRUIT TO SIGN SOONER THAN LATER assuming we had a 2017 scholie to give. We finally have:

1) A great coaching staff
2) Apparently a coach who's a class act and cares about the players
3) Improved facilities coming (if only the "Hawthorne Effect"-recruits and coaches
R noticing change)
4) Players who R having a good experience at RU
5) An improved team
6) Great fanbase
7) A university that has much to offer

There R enough of 4 star recruits to go around. With only 1-2 schollies to give and Pikiell's good reputation it was just a matter of supply and demand that Pikiell would have several options on players. Now we landed a 4-star top 100 whos still considered raw with a great upside.

This should have been the norm but the basketball program has been severely neglected for 30+ years (with a side of bad luck).

Basketball isn't football-it takes only 2 or 3 to turn a program around. Looks like RU has at least 1-2.
