Typically Uber or take the T, but might be driving up on Friday morning so I'll have my car as I need to get back home that night.
2 Questions:

1. Best way up there - IIRC, it's Parkway/Tap/84/684/90? Always get confused w/this
2. Parking - Garages, behind Cask & Flagon, off Brookline? What's the best option

TIA and as always, Go RU!

I encourage GWB to saw mill to cross Westchester to Wilbur cross Merritt to 91 to 84 to 90 unless you live north of 80.

I've made the trip several hundred times and this is generally the best route. Sometimes 95 is better than wilbur cross to until Milford, CT.

That's tough because it's a workday. You MIGHT consider taking the Green Line Riverside line from it's terminus out in Newton into the Fenway stop. Avoid parking in Boston, but I have no idea whether the lot out there might be full of commuter parkers.

I was thinking about parking at the 128 stop and taking the train from there...

This is the way to go unless there's an accident on the Merritt.

You can be lazy and just Amtrak/Acela to Back Bay. That station is only 1 mile or so away.

I ALWAYS take the Tap on my way to New England. The GW Bridge is always a real treat when
there is an accident, road construction or a Yankee game going on. Or, all three.

Best way to get up there:
1) Parkway north or 287 Cross the Tap, 684 North to 84 east to 90 east. You may hit traffic in Hartford depending on time of day and then again as you get on 90 into Boston. Also keep watch for MSP when you cross from CT in Mass, they are always on the side of 90 over the state line.
2) You could easily park in Copley place, plenty of public garages there and then a quick walk over to the stadium (about a mile).

^^^ This ^^^

Used to work in the last building before you cross the GWB. All it takes is an accident, a heavy rain, some kind of off highway backup, and it clogs up the bridge and adds an hour or more to your trip.

I have gone both ways. From NB tap is 20 miles longer. And you get full 84 Hartford traffic. Gwb on average is better

I used to like to take the scenic route up the Taconic Pkwy to Rt 90 east.

Less traffic but NYSP used to love to sit on the Taconic. But what a great drive!

You typically uber from NJ ??

That’s the route - tap /684 etc

Anyone go through NY and hit 90 in Albany ?
I always go that way when coming or going to Saratoga ! But I always figure too long when starting in Jersey

Yes, see above- I love taking Taconic. And if you ever have the chance to take that drive in the fall- maybe one of the most beautiful drives in the country.

That extra 20 miles is usually worth the drive. If I were going to put odds on traffic- it would be from 287 to the GWB and then again on 95 as you are going through the Bronx into Ct...
287 to the TZ- the only bad spot is near the Palisades mall but even that is usually not an issue. Once you get on 84- the real danger isn't traffic but if there is an accident. I have sat on 84 for hours due to an accident. But other than that- it is your safest route to take,

I didn't take 95 through the Bronx. I take the saw mill to the cross Westchester to the Wilbur cross/Merritt

Try Rt 89 in the fall from Concord, NH to Burlington VT.

back around November, I had to go to the Hartford area about 5 times. A couple of times it brought me via rt 95 and the other, using the Merritt. We had such major delays on both almost every time we went. But usually heading out that way- going east, and not on the way home.

the route should depend on time of day and traffic conditions, with changes to alternate routes while underway if necessary.

The I90 / I84 / Wilbur Cross/ Merrit / Hutch / Cross County / Saw Mill / Henry Hudson route is the absolute fastest if traffic conditions are all clear.
But one small traffic issue anywhere in large sections of that route can make it a nightmare.
I find I90 / I84 / I91 / I291 / I84 / I684 / I287 / GSP the most consistently reliable. But again be willing to change based on traffic.
There are many other variations and alternatives. Let Google Maps or Waze tell you when your plan needs to be altered.

Take the curveball the opposite way, don't try to pull everything. Stay focused on the game and have situational awareness on the bases.
Keep working hard and you'll make it to Fenway. Once you get the call up the parking situation will solve itself.

As a lifelong New Englander and Red Sox fan, I always park at Riverside and take the Green Line to the Fenway station. There are over 900 parking spots at Riverside and I’ve never had an issue with parking during the week.

MBTA Map

Best route is Tap to the Merritt, 91, 84 and Mass Pike,. I do this ride all the time since my company is based in Boston. My daughter also went to college in CT so I know the Merritt (and how to drive it) well. Time it right and it's the fastest. When going to Boston I am usually on the road by 6 AM or leave after 6 PM. Get there in 3-3.5 hours from Bergen County. Otherwise I take the Tap, Saw Mill, 684, 84, Mass Pike. Always traffic on 84 from Waterbury to Hartford.
