OT: Bitcoin, Altcoins, NFT's & All Things Crypto

Anyone have an opinion on MANA?
It sure has gone crazy recently. My son follows someone on Twitter who did some technical charting of the coin and called the recent surge. I didn’t buy but my kid had a 5 bagger in a few days.

Yes. I was about 3 hours too late fri am. If it comes back down I extend on buying. People I trust are in.

Also, leaving this here. The title alone is all you need to read here...
Altair was an important upgrade for ETH. FYI, when usage surges, so does fees. It will happen with every blockchain unless it centralizes or crashes. If you want to lower fees, use layer 2 roll-ups. ETH 2.0/POS will greatly expand the transaction speed and ability, but if volume continues to surge, fees will never become pennies.

Nice takeaway from the article:

"Demand for Ethereum is surging right now."

@bob-loblaw
Have you had a chance to look at LRC since I recently asked you? It's almost doubled since that time and it seems to be quite useful on layer 2 of Ethereum platform. I haven't bought any yet but would like to hear your input since you've analyzed quite a few altcoins.

Unfort not. Domestically, only on Kucoin, which is a great exchange for getting alt coins with marginal fees.

I wouldnt recommend opening an account here unless you know what you're doing. There's a lot of steps involved in getting your account set up there.
One of my alt coins just announced they are listing on kicking. Saitama pretty hopeful for the listing

Any of the resident experts have thoughts on which cryptocurrency could be the go-to for the metaverse?

Some info on one of my favorite non-coin crypto plays (Nasdaq listing coming soon):

I’m all in on Galaxy Digital. As I’ve posted, people smarter than me think it’s gonna be a 5-10 bagger in 2022

Mother of God. Bitcoin, Ethereum -- both at record highs. Hope this wave doesn't peak for awhile.

Now that we are seeing new highs I hope this continues into the new year , a quick question I have to ask because I’m hearing things, any opinions or suggestions on the MetaVerse and where would be a good place to start to get my feet in the door as they say. Thanks

MetaVerse as in Facebook and the recent Microsoft announcement?

I have seen Decentraland linked to the MetaVerse quite a bit. I'm sure there are others.

I have a hunch were going to see an aggressive run the next 4 mos maybe. 100k close to Nov wouldnt surprise me. 250 end of Feb wouldnt surprise me either.

I've yet to dig into it, but people I trust are waving the Mana flag.

Any thoughts on Loopring? Works on layer 2 of ethereum blockchain. I got in at 1.35 a few days ago, now at 2.30. Seems like some pretty good utility.

Not really. I dont dive into ETH protools too much. I have one person in my circle who raves about cartesi as a layer 2 "fix"

Looking at the tokenomics of both, Cartesi has room to run to $2 to get close to the martketcap if Loopring. I really dont know too much about those layer 2 protocols, but.... looking at the prices, Loop is at or near ATH, Cartesi (which I believe serves a similar purpose) still has room to run IMO. Both are pretty much avail on the same exchanges.

This is based on 90 seconds of research, but if I were getting into the layer 2 fix space right now, I'd probably get into Cartesi over Loopring. I just think there's more short to near term potential there

Some layer 2 utilities will become obsolete once ETH 2.0 launches. Definitely not all. but some.

What’s going on with Litecoin. It hit $295 this week and is currently at $283.

Any insight.

It's a forgotten coin. It was once silver to the btc gold, but its just a shit coin now. I wouldn't put money into it.

Decred right now, similar but better coin is a steal right now
So sell what I have, or will it go up any from here?

It will likely go up as BTC and the crypto market rises, but probably not on its own merit. As such, there are probably better plays right now.

I cannot answer that for you.

But, I can offer this perspective. I foresee BTC getting to 100k this quarter. I could see this rise bringing in more money into alts, raising their price. I could just as easily see fomo towards BTC and people outright ignoring alts, bringing the price lower.

If the intention is to cash out, you may better be served waiting. If the intention is to flip into BTC, I would strongly consider doing that now, as I dont anticipate growth on LTC mirroring BTC. Honestly, in the last week it outpaced BTC 35% to 7%. I do not foresee that continuing

^^^^^ Excellent post.

The crypto derivatives market once depended on very few reliable exchanges where users could trade on them. Today, there are plenty of those to choose from. It is safe to trade different types of cryptocurrency derivatives on both traditional and regulated crypto exchanges. Yet they need to do their research and find the one that meets their requirements. Crypto derivatives have long been a fundamental part of the financial ecosystem. As the popularity of cryptocurrencies grows every day, investors are constantly monitoring price fluctuations and visibly struggling to make money on it.
