im in Delhi at the moment and found a nice little bar near my hotel. I sat next to a white guy about 60 years old wearing a red Tshirt. Quickly noticed it was a Rutgers shirt! I started with the small Chat and turns out his son is marrying an Indian woman next weekend. They met at Rutgers! Not only was the soon to be daughter a smoke show (I asked for pictures as were the same age) it just goes to show we are everywhere. Global reach baby!

Pictures of the pictures or it did not happen. . . . you can't just throw out "smoke show" and not show your work.

So I'm wearing a Rutgers shirt in in a bar in India. Some guy comes up to me and says "Go Scarlet Knights!" We get to talking and I tell him that I'm in India for my sons wedding to an Indian woman he met at Rutgers, and I show him a photo of my son and his fiancee. He mentions that my future daughter-in-law is smoking hot, and he asks if he can take a picture of my photo so he can post it on the internet. Was I wrong to punch him in the face?

So how much livestock did you receive with her dowry?

He couldn't find an Indian girl from Edison ? India as a destination wedding isn't ideal.
In many cases would have been in India anyway. If you're a 1st, 2nd or even 3rd generation you usually will hold a wedding in the US and then another in your parents'/grandparents' home country as well because all the relatives are there.

Same...0 Indians in my neighborhood growing up and became friends with a great many at RU. That's why I always champion RU's diversity, even if RU is over-diverse measured against NJ's demographics.

It was probably not Rutgers. No one knows Rutgers outside New Brunswick and maybe Piscataway.

It was probably for British Raj which makes more sense since Hollywood and Bollywood movies have glamorized that period.

Sarcasm?

Using the term "white guy" just rubs me the wrong way... especially in this context. Anyone else feel the same. Perhaps just simply a person, gentleman or American etc might be more correct and appropriate. Smoke show??? How about saying something complimentary in a better way. And you brag about being a college graduate and successful in business. You should know better and learn something from some of the comments that followed.
Bottom line.....Nice to see the Block R around the world. Now that would be an interesting and informative thread starting with folks like Skillethead in New Zealand.

Actually cranky '62 has a point-BE CAREFUL. May have gotten myself into trouble 2 nights ago I'm in a bad hotel with a lot of crime and jerks. I had an Indian guy upstairs throwing cigarette butts down by my room and car. Asked him nicely to stop and he didn't. Told the front desk clerks I liked but nothing happened.

Then there was apparently a drug bust clwith sheriff's officers. Asked the indian overnight clerk who seemed to cover up-said itv was a traffic stop (later said he was a dealer) Ghe other clerks didn't know soerned safetly-and P*ssed.

Tuesday was a bad day with the guy still dumpng the cigarettes.Told that Indian clerk about and he didn't seem to give a hoot Gt ma and said the guy "should be shipped back to your homeland". The clerk flew off the handle-and proceeded to tell me he was born the US. Had to apologize several times.

Ran into an RU TA in a Prague taxi and met a child of RU professors boarding a ferry between Argentina and Uruguay.

Have had people visit from Italy, Poland, & Switzerland. Always send them home with a Rutgers T. Switzerland guy runs miles everyday & Polish guy is in their army. Need pics of them.
BTW, before I get crap about the Polish army, their special forces were highly commended in the American Snipers book.
