OT: Bruno Was the Man, Coldplay The LGBT Crowd/ Bey?

Agreed 100% trainwreck that needs to be deleted. I for one hope none of our players, their parents, or potential recruits read this thread (since many of them are from that 'community'). Shameful among other words can be used to describe the sentiments of some of the messages in this thread.
"That community"
I will bet you the parents of players from "that community" love the presence of cops in their neighborhood because they are hard working law bidding citizens that have nothing to hide

When's white history month?

Poverty, Crime and the lack of education have a real "intimate" relationship. Yes, it's a vicious cycle.

A heavy handed approach by police will not address the ills of the black or Latio community. Punishing a population that has very little to lose is counter productive and dangerous. If we don't address the lack of education and poverty in these communities very little will change.

Before we condem the men and women in blue who police violent areas we need to understand them. I believe the police quickly become a product of their environment because that's what it takes to survive. So, their kill or be killed mindset sends a message of intimidation and fear, which in turn generates anger and mistrust in the community. Quite a departure from the Caucasian community where a policeman is completely at ease and relaxed whether he's giving a ticket or watching a HS football game with residents from the community he patrols.

Tough to do when gangs and drug dealers subvert and sabotage education and learning by any means neccessary.
I have amazing respect for kids and parents that have the brains and balls to resist them, sometimes with fatal consequences

Do you think threads like this one effect future enrollees and their parents thoughts about coming here?
Why would it?

It's been stated ad nauseum that anything posted here has zero influence on recruits. Carry on.

I would bet most parents of our players are law abiding citizens that work hard and would want nothing more than to feel safe in their own neighborhoods and have a mutual relationship with the police. Many bad apples and rotten people i.e. "the bad guys" do not represent the sentiments of the entire community and in fact have played a major role in damaging/causing mistrust with the relationship in regards to the police. At the end of the day, everyone wants the best for their families...unfortunately for many the vicious cycle becomes normalized because of ignorance.

Puh-leeze... People have been talking about police violence forever. The difference in the last seven years is that the radical black "movement"-based organizations like the NBPP have been given cover by Holder's DoJ, which has led to resistance in the path of the real dialog.

As @RUScrew85 has tried to point out, most of the static isn't about finding real solutions to real problems. Most of it is about a small subset of political capitalists trying to co-opt legitimate topics in an effort to further line their pockets.

This is tragic, in the sense that it discolors any substantive discussion about the fact that the cops do, about 1 time in 5, shoot people who are completely unarmed. But to paint the issue as "a black lives" issue" discolors the discussion, as well. Half the people shot by the police, armed or unarmed, are white. Thirty percent are black. Roughly twenty percent are hispanic. Two in a hundred are Asian.

The issue that people of pale color have with things like BLM is that they steadfastly paint a picture of some kind of law enforcement war against blacks, which is patently absurd. Trigger happy cops are shootin' all kindsa people all up in there. A 20% f*ckup rate is too high, regardless of the color of the victim. Unfortunately as long as the issue is presented as purely racial, no meaningful dialog will be had.

All of which completely ignores some fundamental logic which applies to everyone, black, white, yellow or green. The simple fact of the matter is that anyone can dramatically reduce their chances of being shot by the cops, to something approaching zero, by following a few simple guidelines:

Don't deal drugs.

Stop stealin' shit.

Don't punch a cop in the face while he's sitting in his car.
You left out "be white".

She's absolutely a cow. I don't know about you, but I prefer my women look a little less like Hulk Hogan.

As for the racism, the soul and spirit of the NBPP is entirely racist. I'm not going to debate you on that. It's not open to question.

Perhaps, but it speaks volumes that guys like you get apoplectic about blacks who are deemed even a tiny bit racist against whites but racism against blacks or anyone else, even when it leads to innocent deaths, doesn't elicit the same response.

This seems like something that you don't actually know, so are really just fabricating.

And the Black Panthers weren't "a tiny bit racist against whites". Seems, also, like you've got some reading to do.

Also, you should read my posts on the Princeton professor thread.

I don't keep my hottest minority chicks in a separate list. Olivia Munn and Sofia Vergara are right up there with Mila Kunis. I guess I'm just a crazy millenial. I'll get off the lawn and go back to my EDM and smartphone now.

Are you white?
And ashamed

I just hope you remember in this discussion that once upon a time, our ancestors were considered not white, to be of the wrong religion, and to be part of a Communist plot to overturn American social order- and they were literally killed for the mere crime of having Italian ancestry. The same language applied to blacks, Hispanics, and Muslims today applied to Italians and Jews and Germans and Irish before them. And it should never be forgotten.

Just remember that when we talk about minorities and immigrants and who should be registered or banned or not worry about cops or what not. Because I even see it in my generation, Italian Americans have way too short a memory on these issues and unfortunately our grandparents have mostly departed. I'm glad I spoke to mine and I will make sure my kids know what it meant to be the "other."

My mother was born in 1928 Angela Roberti in East New York Brooklyn. Her mother registered her for school as 'Ann Roberts' so she wouldn't suffer the discrimination other Italians endured at this time.

And in the 1940s in queens, my mother's family, anti-nazis who fled hitler, were called german jews by their Italian neighbors, though they weren't jewish, had rocks thrown at them and my uncle had dogs sent after him when he would get on his bike.
