The right hander,the eldest and least known of the three Boyer brothers,pitched for the Browns and the A's in the early 50's.

He later became a pitching coach for a few teams,including the Yankees for whom he was credited in developing Fritz Peterson.

He was the 18th oldest MLB player,that ranking now being passed on to the oldest living Met,reliever Dave Hillman.

Clete was a great third baseman.
