I looked at his wiki page and didn't and didn't see any mention of his playing days, not even HS let alone college or pros. Did the Giants hire a clown? I'm beginning to suspect they did. Ray Handley 2

Are the only options "played football" or "clown?"

Also, if you consider yourself a Giants fan, not sure how you could just now be coming around to figuring out who the coach is. He is not new to the organization. Seems like you know the answer already and are just trolling.

I find it amazing how ignorant people are about pro and college coaches. Any coach from the nfl or big time college football have been working their way up the ladder for years to get where they are. If they did not know what they were doing then they would not have gotten very far. Now this obviously doesn't mean a coach will always be a success wherever he goes, but to say someone might be a clown because he never played football is an ignorant statement.

Coaching is mostly teaching, scheming and motivation, right? It's kind of hard to accept for sports fans, but athletes don't have a monopoly on those things.

I'm more impressed with mcadoo that he was able to get with Michigan State for a grad assistant gig without an impressive pedigree. That moment had to be the breakthrough. He must have been an over the top football coaching nerd.

Neither did Charlie Weiss. Although he wasn't a successful head coach he did well as an OC and got paid big time

He played high school football at a tiny school in western pa. He did not play in college.
