not necessarily for the Rutgers job (southern guy and I believe he had some off the field stuff years back) but I'm a bit surprised that his name isn't being mentioned for more head coaching jobs.

He did a good job as the interim head coach at USC a few years ago, but his time at Ole Miss was pretty bad. The coaching sequence at Ole Miss:

David Cutcliffe 44-29 (1998--2004)
Ed Orgeron 10-25 (2005 -- 2007)
Houston Nutt 24-26 (2008 -- 2011)

This is probably why he is never mentioned as a serious candidate for an open head coaching job.

While we are throwing names around, I think the fans would love Mike Leach's offense, as well as Rich Rodriquez's offense. Of course, not sure these guys looking to make a move, other than a bump in salary.

Orgeron is a funny guy, who does inspire his players, seems to be a good recruiter. Just seems like a fish out of water above the Mason Dixon line.

Other names I wonder if they are being talked about- Mack Brown, Rick Neuheisel, Bo Pelini.

best assistant coach in the country, when you consider, recruiting, motivation, and coaching. Players at SC loved him!

I can't see him at Rutgers either, and I don't see him taking a non power 5 job, at least not a ULM or Mac school. Curious as to why his name hasn't been mentioned for South Carolina or Virginia.

Ed is a West Coast Southern dude. Not the greatest fit, but I think he could make things happen here (just not the greatest HC - See Ole Miss, but that was a long time ago)

Greg doesn't want to man up? This guy will.

MAKE IT HAPPEN BARCHI
!!!!!!!!!!!!
