Close, Lithuanian and grew up on Inslee Place. Spent one summer in Linden Germany not Linden NJ but I did learn a lot as a teenager at the municipal pool in the park across from Linden airport.

I grew up down the Port on E. Jersey St. between 4th and 5th. i knew a girl from high school who lived on Inslee Place. Made many a trip to the Wheeler Park pool but of course we just called it Linden Pool.

What's your typical Washington home game itinerary?
I'm asking because I'm assuming you go to a few games every year.
Give me a remembrance of Ft Dix and the surrounding area from back in the day.
How old are you?

I went to two home games a year on average when I lived in Washington state, and one home game a year when I moved to Alaska. I haven't been to a home game though since 2007. I got married and that killed my trips down to Seattle as far as games went. I'm divorced now but since oil prices tanked it's going to be awhile before I hit another one down there.

Ft. Dix was a trip... I was 18 (summer of '82) and it was the first time I had ever travelled back east. The humidity took its toll .. .I ended up with pneumonia and the lightning storms were enough to make me damn near piss my pants. I remember a lot of sand, heat, humidity, lightning storms and snakes ... water moccasins and cotton mouth. We flew into Philly, they bussed us straight to Ft. Dix and it was straight back to the airport in Philly to Alaska. That base was an open base back then and that made it nice ... you could order pizza from Dominoes and have it delivered to the barracks after lights out ... you just didn't want to get busted for that.

Heading to St Sebastian Spain today after 3 days in Biarritz.
On to Dalkey Ireland tomorrow...home Sunday to start my game prep for The Washington Huskies.
Not going to Seattle!!

Never been to any of those places but I've heard amazing things about St. Sebastian, specially when it comes to cuisine.

I stand corrected then but I know they had a venomous snake that skated across the ponds there and there was another breed of venomous snakes that we'd find in the foxholes the next morning.

I'm in Hong Kong twice a year, the Hong Kong Jockey Club is a client. I'll be there 1st week of October.
Cool. Let me know when you are here. Maybe we can get together for drinks. It would be nice to hang out with another alumnus. The last time that ever happened was around six years ago with a teacher who worked for me in Kunming.

The Internet certainly makes it easier to keep in touch with what is happening. I left the USA in 2002, and haven't been back since.

Since then, I've gotten married to a wonderful woman, my Soulmate, that I met while working in the Philippines, and we have three great kids. My mother has never seen her grandchildren in person, but she has seen them, and they her on Skype. They love video chatting when my brother visits her and sets up his laptop. I keep in contact with my friends in the USA and the others I've met in my travels on Facebook. My "local" news comes via the nj.com and app.com websites while I get my RU news from here. The world is a whole lot smaller than it used to be.

We weren't allowed to leave base and Dominoes had a big ol add in the yellow pages that said it delivered on base.
