Do we really have to go through the lists of liberal justices that were activists?

Sure.

There's 0 on SCOTUS. 0 in history.

There has never been, in fact, in history of the SCOTUS judges before the current iteration where:

- A judge's wife participated in attempting to overturn an election
- Multiple judges who lied under oath
- Two accused of sexual assault with the FBI admitting it didn't complete an investigation into one where it said otherwise
- A judge who mysteriously had his debts wiped before joining
- A judge who belongs to a religious org that states women must defer decisions to their husbands.

RBG was not an activist. Brennan was not an activist. They were legendary because they actually adhered to the words of the Constitution about ALL of us having equal rights.

OTOH throwing out 50 and 113 old laws because they're not found in a "tradition" determined by 6 zealots of near identical elite education and background who mostly graduated from the same places is obscene activism beyond words. I mean Kavanaugh and Gorsuch both had mothers that worked for the federal government and went to the same high school. That's before we get to the shadow docket and the absolute disgraceful coup plotter wife.

Conservatives respected RBG. Liberals respected Scalia. What we have now is 6 hacks and 3 judges who merely are seeking to hold up the norms that kept the country together.

I think Scalia is closer to the current justices than than to Rehnquist, O’Connor and Kennedy. But you were probably extending an olive branch. Or what about this conservative Justice, Warren Burger. Quote from 1991. “The gun lobby’s interpretation of the Second Amendment is one of the greatest pieces of fraud, I repeat the word fraud, on the American People by special interest groups that I have seen in my lifetime”. Wonder what he would have thought of the Heller decision.

Scalia wasn't a total ideologue. His decisions on criminal justice were in line with "liberal" jurisprudence. If you look Gorsuch tries to throw some bones to LGBT or Native Americans. But Mr. "Team of 9" and the superspreader both have laughed off even death row appeals. Weird how their brand of "Catholicism" seems to eschew the aspects that don't align with the teaching of their actual faith...the Federalist Society.

It's the same in the political process too...Reagan granted amnesty to the undocumented and passed gun control and abortion rights as CA gov. They just went further and further off of the rails and that's what we're dealing with now. A nakedly political court that can't even distance itself from a coup.

Not going to get into it with you but you’ve officially become Walt Disney living in your own world.
As for you citing the three judges who “hold up norms that kept the country together” seems laughable coming from someone who has espoused tearing the country apart when things don’t go the way you want. Add SC justices, abolish the Electoral College, abolish the Senate are just some of the things that you’ve been in favor of. These are things that have kept the country together. You want to change anything that doesn’t support your way of thinking which is to have a monolithic one party state.
You’re supposedly an intelligent man but if you are the level of idiocy, hypocrisy and intellectual dishonesty you sometimes exhibit is alarming. I won’t be seeing your response as for the first time in my years on TKR I’m putting someone on ignore.
In addition shame on the mods for allowing this thread to devolve into what it is and not putting this on the CE board.
Hopefully I’ll get suspended for some of my comments as I need a break from this lunacy. I quit TKR for awhile but returned when CE went premium. My BP doesn’t need this.

Weird how things that "tear the country apart" are things we've always had. SCOTUS was not always 9 justices, Senate not always 50, and never said to abolish it- just to make sure everyone including DC and PR had a say.

Maybe if it instead of trying to cancel others and apparently yourself, you took the time to digest why the overwhelming majority of the country is furious, you wouldn't be so exasperated.
