OT: Gene Hackman and his wife found dead in their New Mexico home

And their kids get the pleasure of knowing their father lay there dead for 10 days.
Tough situation. We don't know what the dynamic was and if solitude is what they preferred. But it's funny, on the Internet everyone seems damn sure what the right thing is for everyone else.
I think there are plenty of kids that don’t contact their parents. My brother when he lived out of state might call once a year.
Sounds like everything that's every posted on social media, sadly. The less one knows, the more he "knows."
Wow. Horrible. Seems like such a weird virus to die from if she just made those errands. Sounds like the house was a mess.

Look Gene was in bad shape anyhow but tough to suffer like that when someone could have been for wellness check
My father had Alzheimer's. Lived 5 years. Didn't know any of us within a year. I'm one of six plus he had a wife years after our mother passed when I was 25 and my younger sister was just 11. Sadly Gene was already dead before he died.
True but its a man suffering there for days shutting down..not the best way to go
Is he suffering? Sad to say it but they don't think or feel it. The family does and they will live with their lack of contact but it looks like the wife secluded him from everyone since the pandemic when she should have hired help.
Watching a powerful father, Rutgers Football player (which is how I played enough to get a football letter as Frank Burns and dad, they roomed together) go from a man to nothing fast. I saw my father 5 days before he passed. It didn't help him or help me.

Was going to post the same thing. It amazes me that their kids did not try to contact them and when no one answered they called each other and then the police.
There are times my mom is napping and since my dad can’t hear the phone does not get answered. There is a text that goes out asking if anyone has talked to them that day.
If no one has someone runs over to check on them.
It's been reported and I've posted a few times it was the wife that didn't want any contact with anyone, in person, or by phone.
This is just so damn sad. They're saying his Alzheimer's was so advanced he didn't even know she was dead as he wandered around the house for another week.

The man wandered around the place for a week. Its doesn't matter he couldn't process anything mentally. He is still a human rotting away..yes he would feel pain
