When does the next tour begin for the Rolling Stones ?
Great gonna great.Amazing to think when Start Me Up came out we used to think he was old
Mick never had the greatest voice in RnR and I kinda felt all the jumping around live didn't help that lol. However they made it work on studio albums, he sounded much better. Awesome song writer and performer, and again, good studio vocals.I never got Jagger and the Stones.
I mean they were OK but Jagger always looked like a prancing chicken and sounded like a guy compensating for a lack of ability with stylizations.
I practically never listen to them - sometimes I hear them coming from Harley bikers driving around

Funny how subjective music is...agree on Angie but can't stand Wild Horses--automatic channel change when that came on lol. I'm probably missing some, but these are my top great Stones' songs:Yeah Stones aren't awful - I liked "Angie" and "Wild Horses" and some other things.
I remember pre-80s they weren't considerd an uber-band and then blew-up later for some reason.
I give them credit for hangling tough over times and not getting into PC stuff
I'll never forget Keith Richards descrining rap as "Mary had a little lamb set to a bad drum track"
They "blew-up," as you put it, because they were the leading band still around from the English invasion. People my age (boomers) want to see them to remind them of those days. And, btw, some of the songs (Gimme Shelter and It's only Rock & Roll are examples) hold up well.Yeah Stones aren't awful - I liked "Angie" and "Wild Horses" and some other things.

The Stones are the greatest rock and roll band ever.I used to feel like you do
Pleae let me help indoctrinate you cuz you seem like a really great poster over the years and the Stones really are great lol
Do yourself a favor. Put on Exile on Mainstreet. Listen thru. Then Sticky Fingers. Sit back, relax and just listen for the next few hours
Then contemplate what people felt when this music first came out vs today's garbage
Context is important
The rooster man! Much stolen from Tina Turner BTW. He had a kind of nasal English voice trying to sing blues. But I give Jagger and The Stones credit. They really brought blues based Rock N Roll to the white masses in the US. Prior to that, it was forbidden fruit so to speak. Early R&R in the US was quickly condemned by the Establishment, much like how Rap music (of which I’m not a fan) was condemned by the Establishment..I never got Jagger and the Stones.

It was the Beatles, not the Rolling Stones (who were considered "bad boys), who defused Establishment objections to rock 'n' roll. Even "adults" had to concede the Beatles were good. The rooster man! The list of great tunes from that band that I still enjoy to this day is amazing. The Stones are the greatest rock and roll band ever.
