So my 10 month old Oriental shorthair female went into heat yesterday and has been howling up a storm the past two days. I have only had a her 6 weeks and for half that time she was pretty scared of coming out so I delayed taking her for spaying and wanted to wait until she was comfortable in the home and the tree was down. Unfortunately I should have taken her in last week. She is going to see the vet tomorrow to be given a check up before the spaying but that date hasnt been set yet

Last night she kept me up from 3-5 AM. its quite loud that I can hear it outside my apartment so I assume my neighbors can hear it in the middle of the night, probably think a baby is crying. If I can get her relaxed and not bothered she will actually sleep a long period like she did earlier this afternoon so trying to wear her out before bed and at least get 6 full hours tonight.

So anybody go through this, I have heard some people online that actually take a Qtip and run it by her V...how awful is that. Any hints or tips to get me through this week. I think might check into the Days Inn in Hillsborough

sorry man, I've got all males (minus the cullions). I'm sure you've checked some of the cat sites? there is lots of (usually) good advice there. Poor girl!

saw an interesting thing on youtube that has managed to keep her quiet for now...sort of like an accupuncture massage near the base of the tail...no no not the V, pressure applied their seemed to soothe her a bit, I probably have at least 5 more days of this, hope she can go in on Monday, I havent talked with the vet but some vets do not like to spay while the cat is in heat

And of course Cat Speed to your feline...

Misleading title of your thread- thought cat was va-jay-jay and heat was horny

Any pics?

This actually happened to my rescue cat. Holy shit it was uncomfortable. 2 days after she went in heat, she was off to the vet. It was clear that she was uncomfortable and unable to control her actions.I felt horrible...so I locked my self I a room upstairs with earplugs I so that I could work.

she wasnt so bad last night, lost sleep between 3-4 am but she settled back down and I just let her do her thing

anyone looking for love tonight....

I have five cats, two males and three females all fixed so no issues with the females going into heat. I thought every cat owner get their cat fixed before it becomes a problem. I guess not.

If you don't plan to breed your cat get it fixed! Is that hard to understand?

I have a 10 year old Asian girl.

I have only had a her 6 weeks and for half that time she was pretty scared of coming out so I delayed taking her for spaying and wanted to wait until she was comfortable in the home and the tree was down. I don't use birth control and I'm kinda nervous I knocked her up.

Last night she kept me up from 3-5 AM.

We usually get together about 3-5 time a month.

She screams too loud begging me to stop, I'm afraid the neighbors are going to report me.

Should I manually stimulate until I get her on the pill?

Any hints or tips to get me through this week. I think might check into the Days Inn in Hillsborough

Or should I go back to just using outcalls only?

In.

you have to wait until they're old enough, and sometimes they become fertile before that reach an age to do it.
Wrong. 100% wrong. Cats and dogs can be fixed before the first heat. I had Scarlet fixed at exactly 6 months. As a giant breed they can become in heat before a year but you can't wait that long. Getting a pet comes with responsibility and tremendous cost in the first year. You have to plan that from day one. I had no desire to breed Scarlet even though her dad was a multiple champion. From her first visit to the vet, the day after I got her, the plan was to get her fixed at 6 months. I had no experience in breeding dogs so my choice was easy. And I had months to save $ for it.
