OT:Ichiro 3000

IMO, he's an easy choice as a first ballot Hall of Famer and expect that he will get 90% of the ballots in that first year. He's one of the purest hitters that we've seen and as others mentioned had a great glove too.

....and by the way Ichiro is having a great year this year at 42 - guy takes amazing care of himself. And YES he is a hall of famer.

His has definitely been a career of two halves. His first 10 years, he averaged something like .330. Since 2011, he has averaged something like .280, reaching .300 only once (possibly a second time this year, in limited action). Yes, his fielding, arm, baserunning all have been exceptional. He's a Hall of Famer, but I don't believe he deserves to get in on the first ballot. The last 6 years of his career, he's been an average player.

The thing is he got a very late start. His last 6 years is when most guys are retired. He didn't chime here until most guys are ending their peak.
