to join Taggert

interesting given they're both former USF head coaches

Did a nice job at Colorado this year. I also think that Colorado loses a lot of seniors on defense next year across the line, LBers and secondary. Probably getting out at the right time.

I missed Leavitt after he left USF. He seemed like Schiano - a better program builder than polisher. He was fun to watch lose it on the sidelines - like Kelly but without the venom, spittle and angry veins .

That rumor has been out there for a bit, I like the hire. Maybe they'll finally field a decent defense and if Taggert can keep the offensive side of the ball humming I think they'll be back on their way to contention in the PAC12.

never have I seen a team/program consistently make the STUPIDEST decisions ---over and over and over. you could always count on a personal foul against the Bulls

To me, it always seemed that his lack of control in the sidelines spread to the team on the field

say whatever you want about leavitt, but he found ways to beat west virginia.

Leavitt is a good hire and there's a big difference in being a DC making sure discipline is being maintained by your unit and being the HC setting the discipline standards that is expected to be maintained in every unit.

Funny how a guy who was Shamed and exiled from USF is the hottest commodity in football. Could have hired this guy as HC last winter for peanuts.

Leavitt had to give many fringe kids a chance at USF.

Some kids had athletic flaws (can't run/catch/kick etc. )

Some kids had character flaws (discipline).

But boy could that guy get The Dirty Dozen to play as a unit and give hell on the field...

Yeah, that would have gone over real well. Worse then Mike Rice. No thanks.
Why didn't we just hire Bobby Petrino as HC and Leavitt as DC, and Lane Kiffin as OC and keep KF as OL coach?

Even if you don't believe the 58-year-old Leavitt grabbed Miller by the throat and struck him twice at halftime of a key game against Louisville in November 2009, you have to agree in any other walk of life, the mere insinuation of such an act could ruin a career.

Asked about that this week, Miller told CBSSports.com, "I was young and vulnerable. Leavitt told me he could take everything away if he had wanted to. He had the power to take everything away."

In the school's investigation, Leavitt is famously quoted as allegedly telling Miller, "Choose your words wisely. I'm the most powerful person in the building."

In the end, the cover-up was worse than the crime ... depending on whom you talk to.

I didn't say wh should have. Just pointing it out

Leavitt found ways to beat WV...but not us.

We ate his lunch.

Can't remember the specifics, but I do remember something like a NEGATIVE 40 yard play against his QB... it was hilariour because the QB wouldn't go down /
I thought Leavitt was going to shoot him to save yards / the play.
